Trial?

I'm really interested in PotBS, but I dont want to go out and spend 50 dollars to discover it bores me. Is their a free demo or trial or anything out?

No, there are no plans for a trial, the game has only been out for about a week. It is crazy to expect a trial less then 3 months after a game comes out.

Why? If all new MMO's had a short trial when they were released, I bet they would get alot more subscribers.

Also If I remember right, Tabula Rasa has a trial out and thats not been 3 months.

Also If I remember right, Tabula Rasa has a trial out and thats not been 3 months.

TR and this game are both stinkers in my honest opinion. But like others have stated we all have different tastes when  it comes to gaming.

If they put out a free trial to this game no more people would join it, the only people in the game now are rabid pvp fanactics and some misinformed people that ended up paying 50.00 for the game only to discover that it is trash but still stick around to finish off the 30 days free before cancelling their account.

Honestly, I think POTBS could use some polish before they offer a trial, or at least before it would really benefit them.  If they can clean up some of the issues with UI, graphics (repeated towns and landscapes), and avatar combat first, they'd be more likely to turn trials into subs.

Wrong. My guild has about 50 people in it now, and less than half are "rabid pvp'ers", and the rest of us are not "misinformed".

I am not gonna knock you for liking it, but I think this game is a niche game and it won't be around for very long (maybe 2 or 3 years max).

ignore the rest of the posters...

no there is not a trial as of yet, but all retail copies come with a buddy key to try out the game for 14 days. Find someone who has bought the game and request a buddy key.

That's better, now you are just expressing your opinions, and that is fine. Not the same as stating, as a fact, that people who like the game are "rabid", "misinformed", or "in denial". Making those kinds of blanket statements just reduces your credibility.

 

Since the game is only a week or so old, there is no trial period yet. Every copy comes with a buddy key, and you might be able to get one of those.
