I have wondered this. It does seem pretty late.

Looks to be around November at this point, probably to take advantage of the holiday season.

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

This is what I heard as well. November seems to be their target at this point.

One rumor I keep seeing repeated is that Blizzard is waiting on a release date for Warhammer Online, to which the rumor goes on to claim that Blizzard claimed they'll release Wrath of the Lich King ten days before that release date. I suspect there is some truth to that, being that Blizzard now has to work through marketing to maximize their pull on these expansions. But I really have doubts this is the biggest reason for the lack of a release date, I still attribute it to the Blizzard development 'culture'.

Among all the companies that release their products too early, it's nice to have one that takes their time and releases when it's ready.   Of course that isn't going to please all the WoW vets who are farming the end game content and relying on the Arena PvP ladder to keep themselves occupied.

But it's nice to have a choice between half-baked released-too-early and not very polished games with regular mediocre content, and the few that actually take their time.

I have a feeling that, due to the remote threat of someone possibly releasing a worthy competitor, the amount of money they are making, and the lessons they learned from their first MMO expansion, WOTLK will be the Everquest's Scars of Velious, the Empire Strikes back, the Return of the King of World of Warcraft.  In other words I think it's going to be freaking awesome and will dominate the industry much as TBC did.

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

Well anyones guess is as good as anyone else's at the moment. Several UK game suppliers have May 30th as release date, but Amazon has 30th September, but lets not forget that the last expansion was delayed even after official release date was announced. It's just a case of lets wait and see at the moment.

On the plus side, 2.4 has started downloading so that patch looks like it may be due sometime in the next few weeks as long as testing goes well (if past patches are anything to go by), there will be plenty more for people to play around with until the expansion :)

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Blizz has never let me down and I don't see them doing it any time soon.  Might get 2-3 more 70s before the expac release =D

You must enjoy the grind...  I have to do WoW in small doses, it is 100% grindfest, though a very polished one.

Wait till you get five 70's, then you might feel a bit differently. But sure, its a ton of fun the first one or two times around.

WOW has the best quest-grinds. In fact, the strength of the game is the fun grind. I had one fresh L70 with crappy gear so I probably have time to a) gear him up, and b) level an alt before the expansion hits :)
