    1. Starcraft MMO (it should have decent spaceship action included).

    2. A new star wars MMO (same as for 1.).

    3. Baldurs gate or a different D&D mmo.

Firstly, something truly original would be most welcome... but seeing as it will take a lot of space to describe what sort  of new worlds not yet invented might excite me, I will stick to known IPs here.

    1. Blade Runner Online (from the movie Blade Runner)

    2. Planescape Online (from the D&D setting we also got to play in Planescape: Torment)

    3. The Foundation Online (from Isaac Asimov's The Foundation series)

    4. Time Streams Online (from Michael Moorcock's steampunk trilogy A Nomad of the Time Streams)

    5. The Sprawl Online (from William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy starting with Neuromancer)

    ...and...

    6. Citizen Kane Online (all players try to figure out what "rosebud" is... just joking)

    1. Sci-Fi "Western" (think EVE and pre-NGE SWG planetary combat in one package).

    2. Star Wars MMO either pre-KOTOR or post RotJ to allow jedi within the storyline.

    3. Oblivion MMO <-- Probably unworkable without losing the core gameplay, but one can dream.

    4. Warhammer 40k <-- in developement .. I have high hopes!

    5. Fallout MMO <-- everyone loves Fallout.

I'd to look for concepts that allow "realistic" magic in some form, be it via advanced nanotechnology in a sci-fi setting, jedi/psionic powers or radiation-fueled mutation. There's an awful lot of ideas bandied about for MMO's where "magic" just wouldn't fit the concept.

1-IMO too many of these out there, SWG had a good run, give the creators some more time, they will pop another out eventually

2-There was a Transformers Action game for PC, that was pretty fun, dunno how a MMORPG would work out tho

    3- See Hellgate:London

4- Dont think Terminator would be a good, but an Alien VS Predator MMO Action/FPS game would be sweet (something like Tremulous but up to date)

5- Seriously? You already listed Star Wars lol

    Dune

    Farscape

    Planescape (the D&D campaign setting)

    Shadowrun

    Fallout/Road Warrior/Post-Apoc MMO

my 6th would be any mech based MMO (Mechwarriro, Armored Core, etc.) after that would be any sort of Horror MMO.  So I guess I've cheated and named 7.

    Pfft.

An  X-COM UFO MMO - complete with space/fleet battles, exploration, player driven economy, ground fps combat, etc. Yeah, baby   !

  • AlkimosXAlkimosX Member Posts: 16

My top 3 would have to be:

    1. A new Final Fantasy MMO based off Final Fantasy 7

    2. Better Star Wars MMO

    3. Diablo MMO

Other than those I can't really think of anything that hasn't already been announced that would interest me.

  • gabbzgabbz Member Posts: 13

    Here are my takes:

    1. Non-SOE Star Wars MMO (to stop the so-called SWG veterans from crying ffs)
    2. Blade Runner MMO (hell yea, that'd rock)
    3. Diablo MMO (with both fractions playable - humans as well as demons)
    4. Snow Crash MMO (based on the Stephenson cyberpunk novel)
    5. 10,000 BC MMO (we have SciFi and Fantasy, but nothing prehistoric, I think it might rock if it has the crytek engine, vast landscapes and large monsters/dinosaurs - "Shadow of the Colossus" style)

Hm, I could think of a dozen more cool IP's to make MMORPGs, MMORTS or MMOFPS's out from.

  • joeybootsjoeyboots Member UncommonPosts: 628

    My wish list:

    1. Fallout MMO (Look, I know the single player rpg Fallout 3 isn't even out yet, but a man can dream right?)

    2. Wicked city Online (based on the anime and manga)

    3. I second the Shadowrun MMO that was mentioned. (The FPS was craptastic)

    4. Also got my "Hell Yeah!", on the subject of a Diablo MMO.

    5. Ever heard of a Graphic novel/comic book series, called ElfQuest from back in the day? Yeah I know I just made myself look old, but do any of you remember it? That would make a great setting for an MMO.

    1. Heaven vs. Hell online.

    2. Hip Hop online. some kind of GTA style mmo but with music heavily integrated.  something like bards but cooler.

    3. Some type of MMO where fighting is not the main way of gaining exp.  something completely different. (any ideas?)

    4. Ocean online- underwater sea battles.

    5. Celbreties online. choose your favourite celebrity and kill everyone? make scenes in movies and stuff.

I want a MMO that is completely original. I don't want it to be a WoW clone, DAOC clone, EQ clone or anything else. Why would I play the clone when I can easily play the original?
I will make two exceptions if a MMO is based off something...Dune (would make an awesome sci-fi MMO) or based off Forgotten Realms.
Other then that, I would prefer to see more original MMOs made up by the devs or whoever comes up with the ideas.

    I second that.

You're not the only one.  I've looked into both games (at one point or another) and while I'd fully expect at least one of them to do well in the market, I don't think either will bring anything really new to the table.  That being said, heres my list:

    1)  Sandbox style MMO.  Fantasy or Sci-Fi setting, doesn't even matter at this point as long as it's a relatively polished sandbox MMO.

    2)  World Of Darkness MMO.  Should be interesting just based off of the setting alone.

    3)  Shadowrun MMO.  Not gonna happen any time soon, but I still think it's the perfect setting for an MMO.

    1) RoseOnline

    2)World of Warcraft

3)Runescape(would have been umber until they took out PKing)

    Greek/Roman Mythology MMO

    Star Trek

Hogwarts MMO (For the Quidditch and House vs House PvP, of course)

Hmmm... I'm easy to please that's all I can come up with
