I've seen the words comprehension and maturity.. even jackasses.  I'd say that's a good definition of some of these posters thinking that their word is the final word.. If someone has a good experience, you have to bring it down, even if you look like you're responding after a long night of jack daniels.  Learn the meaning of words before you use them.  That's my suggestion.  Take my advice or not, I don't care, you're only hurting yourself.

It's like the grammar nazi's, except we have AoC anti-enjoyment nazi's.  You have to slam and crucify people just because they are happy about the game.  Don't some of you have better things to do?  You know, school, work, taking care of your kids?  Looking up the definition of Hypocrit is a good start.

Perharps the fact that he dismisses every opinion that doesnt match his as random negative CRAP. Or the fact that he loses sleep over how well a video game performs.

Besides i thought every man was entitled to his opinion, even when it contradicts your own.

OP you can sleep safely now, AoC will make the whole world a better place for your children to grow up in

    Paragus1, I couldn't agree with you more.

Bored scientists proved several years ago what everyone already knew, that "Everyone Hates a Winner".

I can only assume that is part of what is going on here. I have read some excellent detailed posts both for & against the game, but unfortunately the well reasoned posts seem to be drowned out by people just willing the game to fail.

In a few weeks time, if the game is a big success then the trolls will have lost their chance to flood the boards with their grammatically challenged rants, if it fails then no doubt the boards they will be flooded with "I told you so" posts, but hopefully not.

I have read enough to think that the game is worth trying, which is good enough for me. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to win a slot in beta, so I will just await my pre-ordered Collectors edition patiently.

At least the box will be nicer than the one I got with the Vanguard CE, so if all else fails I can use it to store Xmas decorations or something.

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

Fantaros, I'm not entirely sure you understand the whole concept of negative and positive feedback.  This isn't some moral dilemma in which everyone here hates AoC's way of cloning or abortion, or even it's religious beliefs.  Those are things that can be seen from different angles.  Labeling the game as "Teh Suxorz" after a few hours of beta play or saying there's too much load time on your sweet Pentium 4 processor with 512MB ram is all just negative.  Even if you dislike the game to begin with, that sort of feedback is not positive.. it's still negative..  The OP said he has seen the negative junk posted by people like you, and he chooses to form an opinion based on personal experiences and not by the senseless rants of WAR fans trying to slander AoC's good name.

Take a guy named Bob. Bob is new to MMOs, but his friend suggested he should check out AoC. Bob does, turns out he gets in open beta. Now, Bob's heard about all the problems, but luckily for him, he's got a good comp and runs into minor problems. But Bob doesn't like the gameplay overall, he thinks the game is good however and will succeed nonetheless. Bob wants to share his opinion, so he comes onto this site. He has never heard of WAR, or any other games. Bob gets buried by people like tool saying his opinion is negative, even though he tried the game with an open mind.

Okay, totally hypothetical, but you get my point.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

I don't mind the fact that people have an opinion that differs from mine.  It's just the way they go about it that gets my goat.  The whole sleeping more soundly thing was an expression... you've heard of those right?

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

Yeah that's fine, as long as you don't go to people who have legitimate negative opinions about the game and say "lol noob you're so stupid" unless they're really trolls (meaning they have no reasoning whatsoever; they didnt research, they didnt play, ect).

Edit: Illius I've seen you, you've been pretty good about facing trolls, you take time to explain things, so that's what we all should do.

    My suggestion is:

Dont decide if u like or hate a game on how ppl talk about it on the forums. There is 2 many ppl hating and loving it if for all the right and wrong reasons. Not all games are for you, if ur unsure about a game... get a ttrialcode or demo etc and take it from there.

I havent played in AoC beta or read to much about it tbh. All ive decided is to try it out. It might be for me or it might not... only time will tell.
