After playing the Closed PvP Weekend Event I had a sour taste left in my mouth from Age of Conan. The performance was terrible, there were uncountable bug occurances, and the presentation was weak.
Come Tuesday, May 20th I decided to try the release client in hopes that Funcom would prove me wrong. Well to be honest i'm pleasantly suprised. Aside from the game being a beast to run the difference in the game performance is substantial. My system is mid range, and performs well enough, though I can see why there is such unrest with performance. Another problem some people had, and myself included was how instancing would play out. From what i've experienced so far, i'd compare it to EQ2, or EQ1. you still have the zone barriers, though you share the zones with others, so it's not guild wars style, or even as bad as Tabula Rasa in that when you enter a dungeon its closed off to other players who arent grouped. You still have that massive feel no doubt, and the world is quite immersive.
I'll admit I was wrong to say negative things about AoC, after now judging the final product I can say that this game was worth the wait. I only wish there was player looting on the PvP servers...

So... how does your foot taste?
Seriously, though, very glad to hear you're enjoying the game. It was worth the wait indeed.
Are you wrong to say positive things about AOC too? The game has only been out 2 days officially and now you think the game is awesome? Really now most games are fun the first few days you play. Come back when you get higher level and played it longer than 2 days. I would hope the game is still fun after 2 days but content at higher levels is what makes or breaks most MMOs.
If the PvP is as fun as people say it is, I'll enjoy that until they put something out. Honestly I feel bad for lowbies when people hit 80.. if Combos are as fun as people say.. I might go ganking just to see them. Again.. and again.. and again..
.. But in a good way.
indeed, it has only been out 2 days, though the majority of those two days I safe to say i lived in hyboria, ahem. ahahah.
