I left Funcom a nice long list of things that were wrong in my cancellation.
Their updates have been near useless, breaking as many, or more, things than they fix.
After this patch we still have the 12k ms bug, which is frankly unacceptable.
Also, for three updates, minor things inside of the Armsman's Tavern arena were fixed, while the quest to get into the arena in first place remained broken.
Furthermore, they are delaying the PvP system until the launch of WAR in order to attempt to compete. All this serves to do is piss people off, both those who cancel and stay.
Age of Conan will die before WAR releases, and WAR will just step on its lifeless corpse.
Also, before you say I didn't give it a chance, I had 2 level 80 characters, being a Ranger and a Tempest of Set.
I hope Failcom goes bankrupt.

I agree with you 100%. Except when I went on the forums and asked why they decieved us all...I got banned until December. Which really doesn't bother me since I basically uninstalled the client, cancelled the account and threw the game up on my bookshelf next to Dark Age of Camelot and Everquest. I'm done with it. Hopefully Warhammer will be a lot better and actually do what they say they are going to do.
i canceled as well. I was reluctant to do EVGA's step up program because that would leave me without a graphics card for a couple of weeks. I guess Funcom gave me an easy choice now. Looking forward to teh sexy GTX280.

no winning is there? if he was only level 50 you'd say that he doesn't know what he is talking about and needs to get to 80. will there ever be a good reason for someone to quit AoC? or all they all idiots for not paying Funcom for an unfinished game?

Well - this is what I would expect people to be doing with the game less than two months old. I personally am giving the game atleast 3 months of my time before I give it up for dead, you have to admit the game is very promising, judging they deliver on ther promises that they have... promised?
I thought the game had a lot of promise as well. But, as I've played it, I think I'm starting to realize that the way the game is designed, even if everything that has been promised was in the game and/or worked, the experience would still be shallow - too shallow for an MMO in my opinion.
The game really doesn't do anything that differently from other games, and some things it does either worse, or less.
I hope it will improve, but even if everything was "working as intended", it would still be just average, given the intention of the design.

I currently find myself fighting the urge to cancel. I like the gamepley. Some nights I'm quite content just going out and taking out some camps of mobs just because I enjoy melee. When I look down the road though I don't really see anywhere I'm looking forward to going.
So many features I was looking forward to just aren't in the game yet. Just can't find anything else to play.
I've unsubscribed but whether it sticks or not is another story. 
I would not expect Funcom to fix this game in 3 months. This game would need at least 6 months or more. I am wondering if they will release the Xbox version on time.
Enjoy the PC beta version of AoC while the hype lasts.
Cancelling because the games rpg part is boring. Theres not enough carrots to make the 1-80 interesting. For example, you have to grind 10 levels before you get a upgrade to the offensive spells. Features does very little for your skills, sometimes you wonder if they even works and sometimes they actually dont. Ive tryed different builds with my characters simply to get some flavour to the gameplay and the difference is often unnoticeable.
Then you might be able to boost your character with new shiny gear? Not really, AoC itemsation is going from nonexistent, slowly into something wich can enhance your character 1-2% at most. Save up and buy that shiny epic weapon? Why ? -when your combos is the same w/e using a lvl 1 white weapon or a 150dps epic. Only blunt, pierce and slashing(aka white dmg) get a boost with better weps.
The best part of RPG games is when your character becomes stronger and the more ways you can work on your toon, the stronger will you connect with it. In Aoc i dosnt really care much for my toons, sadly but true...

yay congratulations, and I really do mean that. Perhaps AoC will serve a purpose to make people realize that it wasn't just boobies and decapitations that they were missing from Wow. AoC is indeed flawed at its very core, the design of the game is bad not just the execution. All the poor execution of the game did was let it die more rapidly then it would have otherwise.
I still think that Funcom realized this since before launch and decided that they might as well just finish the first 20 levels, release, sell high numbers and then leech the game for as long as it makes any money. They have already made a profit of this game I am sure so good work fanboys you can look forward to another rip off in the near future.
I will never play or beta test another Funcom title.

There are 1000's of reasons to quit aoc--- but being level 80 and crying over a level 50 instance that isnt worth doing from the start isnt really one of them--- if i wanted to quit i could find some real reasons like the rest of you guys-- quit aoc to troll these forums woot woot

lol to funny, I love the "I cancelled by account blah blah blah" reasons and the 1st thing people do is come to the aoc forums, can't be all that bad if this is where you spend your time after you cancel what you call a horrible game or you come here to share a glass of haterade with your fellow hater trolls.
I quit because Funcon lied to me.
How about fanbois start looking at it this way: We wanted to love this game. We wanted to enjoy it thoroughly, and it was hard for us to cancel since we still were hoping for it to only get better. The opposite happened, and we had to cancel a game that we even UPGRADED OUR PCs for because we were looking that forward to it.
At least thats my situation. And I want a place to vent since I am banned from the AoC forums for talking about Vanguard. I really REALLY wanted to like AoC.

While the EXP rewards from the quests in the arena are pretty good, it was more the principle of the matter:
"Lets fix a bunch of a minor stuff wrong with Instance A, while the quest to get into Instance A remains broken, yeah that sounds like an excellent idea"

3 Months? I wouldnt touch this game for atleast 8 months to 1 year. I have learned my lesson well when I purchased an unfinished game.

I cancelled as well. Not because of the bugs or the missing features, I cancelled for one reason....
It wasn't fun for me.
Bugs and missing features I'm used to with MMOs. Lord knows it happens alot with newly released MMOs. The first 20 levels of AoC were ok and some of the quests were good. But I wasn't really happy with the classes, and the game is too melee focused for my tastes.
So, if you're enjoying it then more power to you. It just wasn't right for me. In fact due to my disappointment with AoC, I've decided the following:
- Never preorder a MMO again
- Never buy a CE edition
- Never play a new MMO until the reviews are in
This had to be one of the games I looked forward to the most... only to be disappointed by the game itself.
Thank god. I almost missed this. Another cancel thread. Just what we needed.
Let this forum die, so I'm not tempted to come see the train wreck.
