Your theme music for MMO games

Out of boredum I want to know what songs you think go well with certain MMO games.  It could be a theme song, or immersion songs to enhance gameplay.  It can be one song or whole albums.  Wahtever you think.

Heres a nice juicy list to start it all off.

Game:  Age of Conan   Artist:   Saul Williams    Album:   The Inveitable Rise of Niggy Tardust    Song:  Raised to be lowered.

The main chorus hits right on the spot.  "Was I raised to be lowered?"

Game:   Warhammer Online  - any PvP battle   Artist:   Nightwish    Song:  10th Man Down,   Passion and the Opera

Game:  World of Warcraft  - Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin,  Warsong Gultch   Artist: Juno Reactor,  Chaos Legion,  &  Therion      Song:  Conquistador 1 & 2   +  Kali Yuga 1 & 2  + Wardogs   +  Ginnungagap

Game:  WoW  -  Burning Crusade Dungeons   Artist: Orbital,  NIN    Album:  Ghost 1 - 4    Song:  The wretched

Game:  WoW  -  Gnoeragan   Artist:  Craig Armstrong    Songs:  Ruthless Gravity +  Inhaler

Game: City of Heroes / Villians

Artist:  Amon Tobin  &  King of Fighters 94 - 2000 soundtracks  Songs:  Anything breakbeat or has screeching rock guitars.

<sigh> I'm bored today.

Well I always chose the artist/ genre according to what I'm doing in the game..

While I was doing dungeons/ leveling or anything more related to PvE I used to chose slower songs in general, like Skepticism, Thergothon, Until Death Overtakes Me, Nortt, Funeral (all funeral doom), or something like Brian Eno's "Music for Airports" and Harold Budd's "Translucence", or sometimes even drone music like Sunn O))), Earth, Thorr's Hammer and Monolithe.

As for PvP and RvR I used to chose faster bands, like Carcass, Cattle Decapitation, Exhumed. Sometimes bands like Satyricon, Marduk, Belphegor, Emperor and Immortal. All that mixed with Opeth's "MAYH", But Aus Nord's "Ultima Thulée", Thyrfing's "Farsotstider", etc.

Sometimes I picked different playlists tho.. With Nuclear Assault, Suicide Commando, Hocico, Axiome.. It really depended. Like when I tried games like Tabula Rasa I would often chose hellektro/ gabber/ powernoise artists. For DAoC I mostly listened to war black metal while RvR'ing and ambient for Darkspire. For Final Fantasy XI mostly instrumental songs that had some similarity with Nobuo's works (all of them kinda fast, to stop me from falling asleep). On rare ocasions I had opportunities to listen to my experimental noise playlist while playing without feeling a conflict between the game and the music itself too, like listening to Merzbow, Masonna or Prurient while doing some gauntlet rounds on Ultima Online.

    Pretty much that, I guess.

    Ultima Online 98~04
    Dark Age of Camelot 03~07
    Final Fantasy XI 04~06
    Guild Wars 05~08
    World of Warcraft 04~05
    Unsuccessful Tries: DFO/EQ2/DRaja/Rag/Req/RYL/9D/Cabal/KO/PSU/RF/GE/TO/TR/DDO/EVE/LoTRO/L2/RZ/SWG/VG

For me it has to be an immersive song.  Usually other game and movie soundtracks will fit the game better than its original music.

Juno Reacto & Therion in WoW just works perfectly together.  I used the soundtrack mod when playing WoW and it is basically the reason I played the game for 3 years.  I probably would have quit a year earlier if I didn't have song + gamplay craving.  I really get into my music with gaming.
