Will you think this will play WAR?

I recently brought a new laptop, it was an impulse buy so i just wana know if you think it will run WAR atleast half decent:

specs:

Intel core 2 duo processor T5750 2ghz

HD 3650 512mb ati radeon

3gb ddr2 ram

250gb Hardrive

Another important note is that its using Windows vista so i know that eats ups system speed.

unless he has 64 bit vista, 3 gigs is all it will use anyway.

yes, i think it will run it.

I'd wait and see :) you can always go out and buy more ram on the day.

I have 1.5gb ram and I have no intention of upgrading just for wAR :)

I done systemrequirementslab before i started the topic.

But its just that it can be kinda off the mark at times, like mine was showing i could play crysis at near maximum graphics.

Vista Ultimate. Ultimate 32 or 64bit will use the full 4GB. 64 bit uses the memory more effeciently and has more multi processor support/usage but isn't required to see over the 3.2GB mark that Home Premium has. And he could try readyboost with what he's got.

    im using vista 32bit.

    Explain more about readyboost?

Im new to the whole vista OS, so i would deeply appreciate if you would explain more about it.

    Thank you

"Get another gig of ram" is one of those replies that people who have no clue about computers recycle over and over again.  Going from 3 gigs to 4 with your system will make literally NO difference.

That said, you are correct, system req lab is ABYSMAL at actually telling you what you can play. All it does is tell you if you meet the LISTED requiremments. It is not a benchmarking program.  Sys req lab told me (on my old machine) that I could run vanguard perfectly (at launch).  Lol, I was using an x800 pro graphics card in that rig. Needless to say, I could not run vanguard.

For proper benchmarking, get 3dmark. You can get a trial of the 06 version . Will give you a basic benchmark score.  I'd say to run WaR smoothly, you will want to score over 4000 or so on there.

I am pretty sure you will be able to run it smoothly. It isn't too harsh on resources and they are constantly working to improve the system drain. If anything, you may have to tweak some sliders down (once there ARE sliders :)

short version. You will be ok.

this is inacurate. Those os's will SHOW the full 4 gigs but will not use it. Only 64 bit os's actually use the whole 4 .

well 32bit vista Ultimate wont use the full 4gig, when microsoft released the patch all they did was make it show the 4 gig Not use, they said this also.

As for the laptop yea it will play, its not a topend games machine but it will play and you dont need 4 gig of ram for Any game atm so why people keep saying add more ram is beyond me unless you have an Ultimate gamming pc for giggles

    Duo E6600 2.4 clocked to 3.41

    2 gig ram

    8800 gtx

i believe readyboost is the capability to use a flash drive as memory. I haven't tried this myself but have a buddy who did and said he saw no benefit. I am curious if anyone has used it effectively?

You'll only see a noticable difference with readyboost if you have a serious lack of RAM, ie. less than 2gb.

I thought about it some more, and i guess a benefit of having 4 gigs over three would be that you will be in dual channel mode as opposed to single channel mode. You would use only 3 gigs still, but would be using it more effectively.  The system I play on has 3 . I had 4 , and took one out to bump my girlfriends comp to 3 as well. I didn't see a significant (like no) loss in performance, but someone will tell you how essential being in dual channel is, so.....just throwing it out there.

Thanks guys very helpful posts.  Especially truk, thank you very much to you.

I was getting worried, cause i impulse brought this laptop for the sake of it because of the multimedia abilitys like a blu ray player, without even considering my games.

The witcher runs pretty poorly on this laptop which sucks, cause i really like the game. So i thought maybe WAR will have some problems.

Understandable but the one thing that gets me is that peeps assume that 4 gig's of ram over 2 will make a HUGE  difference, unless you have the cpu and the graphics card and the Board to match a high spec ..sheesh dont bother, 2 gigs of ram is perfect unless you have a stonking games machine
