Is this a 'MIRACLE' patch?

This site has gone bananas with the opening of the next phase of OB .

Are the improvements so vast to the game since the PW?

I remember the 'miracle' patch for AoC, and what a complete and utter fabrication that was from Erliar Ellingsen.

So, here's a nice poll for you lucky guys - if you can drag yourselves away from the carnage for a few minutes .

You have no idea what you are talking about then. That patch increased performance across all users by 200 fold.

The game ran perfectly with minimum bugs on the PW on the 22th.

I don't see this as a "Miracle patch", since the game was very well done on the first PW (except the AI pathing issue which is now fixed).

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of ass. Because I kicked so much of it earlier.

    Really?

It must have seriously sucked before it then .

I don't think that WAR needs a "miracle" patch. It had some bugs, but nothing that would warrant calling for a miracle patch. Also, don't compare WAR to AOC because there is no comparison.

  • This is a new content and class balancing patch.....not a patch to try to make the game actually playable.  As such, it does what it is supposed to do.

    ui is more responsive now.

classes are still terrible.highest quality gfx are underwhelming.

This isen't a miracle patch for me.. I'm getting much worse performance than the last PW.

And waiting in server queue for ten minutes only to be disconnected is making me sad. ):

I do love the new ToK design and the Magus upgrades though!

Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV

Hey, could someone please post a link to the patch notes or list some details on the patch? I'm not in the beta or anything, just curious about this "miracle" patch as I have a pre-order.

    Thanks in advance !

AOC NEEDED a miracle patch.  WAR did not.  It was in good shape for release last weekend.

  • TheSheikhTheSheikh Member Posts: 804

This wasn't a miracle patch, this was an "increase the graphics and fix some things" patch.

I rarely ran into bugs in the first place but they fixed most of them, although pathing is still a little strange for some mobs. The majority (about 9 of 10) work just fine though.

    STOP WHINING!

Still haven't seen Talisman Making trainers

Graphics are exactly the same as before (at least from memory)

    Slightly better animations

Slightly better A.I (still dumb though)

Combat system is much more responsive, it should be perfect at launch. It still lacks the sound effects from the 3gig patch we'll have next week, it should be much more involving then

Seen a couple of nice little improvements here and there

Not miracle but it's a very good patch nonetheless. I decided to give this game a second chance after I saw the patch notes and it's improved my opinion of the game. Not sure if i'll buy yet, we'll see in a few days :)

Graphics have been improved since the last phase, check your settings and choose custom (advanced).

Knowing Spaceweed10's prior post record, it's not surprising he is once again putting out a negative thread with false assumptions about the state of gameplay in WAR.  The build level at the PW was already of an acceptable level of game perfomance.  There were some broken issues as discussed by Mythic, and some of those issues (notably pathing) have been improved with this patch set.  The assumption that WAR is broken and unplayable is a false one being put forth by Spaceweed10 who I doubt even plans to play WAR.  In other posts he's made it well known that he does not like the type of game WAR is, so he is spending a lot of time and effort to undermine Mythic by creating false impressions about the state of the game to the potential players.  I don't know if this is because he is bitter about AoC or what his issues really are, but it certainly is not a valid or deserved comparison to the state of WAR.  The Mythic devs have done good work, and continue to make a fun to play game for those people interested in cooperative RvR gameplay.  WAR is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, and the sooner some people get beyond that point and find something else to occupy their time, the better they will be.

    I hope this helps.

I have everything at max settings and I don't see how it improved from last week. (Using my memory)

Which means that they hardly improved at all, and many agree with me. Until we see high setting working (they added medium, not high) and Ani/Antiliasing we won't know how good it can look.

Weird thing though, when I had everything on max settings my graphic card overheated even though I've played much better looking games without any problems. Don't know if it's a bug with the programming or if my fan has issues.

Hehe, I love it when a fool comes to the thread and makes a complete plonker of himself.

Actually, I have pre-ordered War and if GOA get their fingers out of their asses, I shall be playing on Sunday.

Try and get your facts straight, and for God's sake, learn the meaning of 'paragraph'.

Amazing how many people blame various games for their crappy equipment .

Using the word "plonker" kinda gives away your age m8, unless you heard your father using the term it puts you in the mid to late thirties bracket or older.

Sorry to go off topic, yeah hope GOA don't screw up ;)

    Guild Taxes and Tithes

    # Guild Taxes

-Guild Taxes are a Guild Reward which unlock at Guild Rank 3.

-Once unlocked, members may view the Guild Tax Rate in the Guild Window Rewards Tab.

-Once unlocked, members with permission may set the Guild Tax Rate in the Guild Window Rewards Tab.

    # Guild Tithes

-Guild Tithes are a Guild Reward which unlock at Guild Rank 3 and apply only to the individual guild member.

-Once unlocked, members may view their Guild Tithe Rate in the Guild Window Rewards Tab.

-Once unlocked, members may edit their Guild Tithe Rate in the Guild Window Rewards Tab.

-Whenever a Guild member earns money from looting a monster, the Guild Tithe Rate is added to the Guild Tax Rate, and the total percentage is deducted from the player's earnings and given to the Guild.

-Example: If the tax rate is 20%, and the player's Tithe Rate is 10%, earning 10 brass from looting a monster would give the player 7 brass and the guild would receive 3. Fractions are rounded down and given to the player such that if the Guild Tax Rate is 5% and the Tithe Rate is 5% and the player earns 11 brass from looting a monster, the player earns 10 brass and the guild receives 1 brass.

SWEET JUST WHAT I WANTED /cry

    # Deciding which class to play has never been easier! All classes now appear in Tier 4 armor prior to selection.

    # The name entry field now functions like a name entry field, and the cursor blinking at you is actually a real cursor...and there was much rejoicing.

    Sign... always with the drama.

The patch thus far has stabilized the UI responsiveness greatly, and animations have been optimized/synched better over the last week, both of which are tremendous improvements.

Graphics look consistent with previous builds with some enhancements to shadows/water/lighting. Running the game at 1900 x 1200 as (current) max settings looks and runs great. Additional levels of detail are always nice, but the immersion factor is really working for me and I don't find myself worrying about the graphics at all.

Balancing is still ongoing, as are minor fixes that I expect will continue to roll into day one of release. The game is polished and much more stable than previous builds (I haven't had a CTD in days).

There is NO NEED for a miracle patch, so this obviously isn't one. Silly.

I saw the Virgin Mary running in game so this is Miracle patch!

    Besides that, imo:

    - Pathing is fixed but it needs some work still.

    - AI was improved, still need some work.

    - Combat responsiveness and graphic combat was improved.  I am surprised aout this in a very good way.  Still need some work.

    - Less CTDs!!!  Still they need to keep working on them.  I didnt CTD so far but I know some people did... but way better than during PW.

In resume, they improved the main problems but they still need more work.  The good side is tha they are obviously working on them and achieving good results so far.
