ok don't normally do this kind of thing, before I start I have played 3 different characters up to rank 6, and only on the third and final one did I bother with an scenarios etc...
Graphics - on par with the original 'warhammer' concept, may be slightly disapointing for some but I think they wanted to ensure more people could play, so thats kind of a bonus, also lower graphics can help with larger groups...
RvR - Ok blank area here really went into an RvR area couldn't find anyone and all objectives were in my control so a little disapointing but I was there at what is a 'anti-social' time for the server so maybe that was the problem..
PVE - Is good but you have to want to learn the story and read the dialogs etc, get into the story dont just grind them out..
Public Quest - these I like, chance to get bonus item through influence, can be done solo in lower stages, and a great way for people to learn to work together ready for scenarios and RvR...
Scenarios - ok only had chance to do one of these, mainly because I click to que up and wait for ages only to find nothing happens, but recently I got a chance to get in one and was a bit lost, but another player must of guessed and simply asked me to 'stick close' think I got a couple of renown ranks in that one go and was half on the phone at same time!!
Overall - I would say this is a bit or a marmite game you either love it or hate it, it has its good points but with some bad, however most of the bad points that concern me could be fixed with expansions and patches, remember MMOs are always in development even after release, would be a good one to watch see what changes are made, if you are a fan of warhammer the table top game I would suggest you give this game a try....
Characters played.. chaos chosen, disciple of khaine
Now playing... battlemage of sigma (I think thats what its called)
Final notes - this is a good game but not good enough to make me want to ditch EVE online, but will continue to play both for the forseeable future...
shhh... you might wake the trolls
Comments
Well, nicely written and all polite an all but woooooooooeeeeeee there fella. After playing to rank 6, you reckon stuff needs fixing with patches and expansions? Come on.
Played EvE-online for 30mins, and well
PvP - Didnt get to do any, so no comment
GFX - spent most of my 30mins in a space station and didnt get see much so i will say it was ok.
PvE, see above comment.
Overall I will rate eve-online OK. Maybe with some expansions they can solve some of my problemns with the game...............................................snip
Ok, so the eve bit is not my actual experience or opinion. I played eve for a long time and had 3 accounts. But what I was demonstrating is that you simply can not review a game other than maybe minesweeper after 10mins or RANK 6. Rank 6 is something like lvl 3 in WoW.
MMORPGS are copmplex, detailed affairs. Please give them, and me as a player some credit and due respect (the MMORPG genre, not me as I do not deserve respect) and not "review" the entire 3 course meal after a mouthful of the starter.
People shouldn't give reviews until they reach level 20. At level 20 you've pretty much seen enough to give a fair review. I don't even bother reading reviews when the OP's say "I've leveled to....4..5...6...7....8...9...10.." lol I'm level 13 and don't even want to give a review because I still feel I have so much to learn and do in the game...it wouldn't be fair to even give a review yet.
I agree with the point that players either love or hate WAR. Fact is, this seems to be the case with most every MMO.
As for this thought that you cannot give a review before lev 20. I dont think thats fair. So long as you are upfront and state what levels the review is based on, I think its fine. Its up to the reader to decide.
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
Not the best starter characters to base a game review on neither. Both being at the lower end of the damage scale and from a solo pov not so much fun as a dps class such as bright wiz, marauder, white lion or basically any of the ranged/melee dps classes.
And yes definitely play for more than a week before giving a reasonable opinion.
I mean I for instance have a few characters at rank 10-11(rr8) and around 3 at level 6(rr4). No way am I ready to give a fair assessment of what the game has to offer yet.
Graphics....Yes they are below par with what they could be...but it's the game play that matters and not Graphics.
RvR....Great if your on Distruction, you never have to do any thing...Distruction own almost everything on almost every server. But if your Order it's a waste of time as theres never anyone around to do it and it's near impossible to fight your way past 10 Tanks.
PvE....Real strong point of the game, Story line is good and allows you to understand whats going on within the game.
PQ....Are fun, allows you to work as a group, but get's tedious once you get to Chapter 10+ when you can't find anyone to help you.
PvP....Major sore point if your Order....hardly ever win a game on most of the servers as most of the servers are controled by Distruction Tanks.
Overall....Good game for PvE...But if you want to do RvR and PvP...go Distruction. Game will die because of that problem...too many Distruction and not enough Order. And with WoW's WOTLK and Stargate Worlds just around the corner....i can see WAR losing a lot of sub's due to the inbalence.
This is ment to be a PvP game...but it's so one sided it's losing it's fun.
Characters Played....BW(lev 23), Sorceress(lev 20), WP(lev 16)
Final Notes:- Can't see this game lasting due to total inbalence of sides, Totaly unsociable, Inability for Mythic and Players to understand and deal with the Problems that will cause this game to vanish. But...if you want a good PvE game...continue playing, If you want PvP Pick Distruction as it's the only way your win anything.
ok let me re-phrase or explain one thing, I was not specificlly saying there should or shouldnt be updates / patches or expansions, rather that MMOs all have them and that the game could get alot better (or worse) the point I was trying to make with that comment was that to start with this does feel like a good game already, and if mythic do the expansions and patches right it will get alot better...
I enclosed my rank so you can see how much of the game I may or may not have seen, if you think I have not played the game enough yet to comment, then fair enough, this was kind of more like a first impressions review sorry for any misunderstanding...
Some of the things I have noted on some posts and had a comment / or opinion of my own about so used this post to do that...
Also as a side note I do work for Games Workshop as a store manager on most days, so maybe I am slightly bias but I am just a pure gamer, on all platforms, so yeah was just really a first impressions review
shhh... you might wake the trolls
That's certainly not true on my server (Badlands). There are days where Destruction leads and then there are days like yesterday when we were being creamed by Order.
Maybe it's your server.

Another post from someone that just hasn't thought this through, with unsupportable conclusions thrown in. The balance of players in RvR changes constantly - by the hour and by the day. People who don't like getting ganked get discouraged and leave. People who like a fight and stick around and try to use some brainpower instead of wandering around the same area over and over again find a favorable situation and get some RvR payback.
If your current zone is too inbalanced, go to the flightmaster and try one of the other two realms/zones (there are 6 total per tier - they aren't all at the same state all the time). Join a scenario queue - which always have even numbers by definition. Or go into the back area of your opponent and look for people with the RvR flag on. They are there. Or wait a few days - people will level up and out of this tier and it's a new day.
If both sides stay disorganized the one with the larger numbers wins. So get organized! Armored warfare rules apply in this type of game - stay together, stay mobile, and look for overruns Attack where your opponent isn't, then get them to attack you in a defendable position.
Posters who comment like this just don't understand PvP/RvR concepts. Anyone who does knows there is plenty to work with in this game, and that you have to be flexible and stick with it if you want to play with and against real players.
For instance, a war priest and any other order toon can by themselves take any non-keep victory objective in tier 1 or 2 if the war priest is equal level to the main defender mob (i.e. Level 8 in Tier 1). By themselves. This makes it pretty easy (i.e. you need to find ONE friend or ONE warpriest) to go where the enemy isn't, take an objective, and then wait for them to come sniffing around. When they do you can try and clip the initial ones to show up and/or go mobile for a bit until your gaurds spawn in to help - and then you can support them. Keep doing this and soon people will be running all over the map here and there as you pick your targets. And then numbers don't matter as much any more and you are playing a hit and run game. Pick up a few allies who can follow directions and you have a hit squad.
If a big group catches you at a bad time and you wipe, don't give up! Move to a new area and resume. Its all about tactics tactics tactics. If all you can do in RvR is mindlessly zerg- yes Destruct is better for you at this moment in time.
As for the OP, geez dude it's an RvR game and you didn't do any RvR! You went to the ice cream store, got a bag of potato chips, and wrote a review of the ice cream store! As others have said, you need to be in the teens to review this game. Once you get in a few pitched RvR battles this game will get a hold of you. Unless you have no imagination and drive to succeed, in which case please dump your stuff for cheap on the broker on your way out People like me can and will use every edge.

Yet another post by someone who has no idea what there talking about...
Check the servers next time you log on and tell me how much diffrence there are between Order numbers and Distruction numbers...then tell me that it's balenced. I have 4 diffrent characters on 4 diffrent servers...all are totaly under distruction control. And i have chanced relms....doesn't matter...still controled by distruction.
As for not understanding the PvP, RvR concept....I have 5 years of EvE Online (total PvP game) and 4 years of WoW behind me.
And get organised...??? If theres a side where there stronger and there win most of the time, then the average gamer will pick the strong side and take the wins. You sound like a distruction player who just likes easy wins because you had your ass handed to you when playing WoW.
Oh...and Gamealot...Fanbois post is somewhere else. I have checked your posts and all i see is someone raving about this game and honestly...do you work for mythic...??? I never said the game was bad...far from it...it's a good game. But if you do what i said and check the server numbers your see how inbalanced it is. Thats why this game will not last the test of time because too many idiots want easy wins and no challenge.
