Try playing BW (for example) and see that you kill anyone that you target , if he doesnt notice you right away.
See Destros running from one side to another - exclusively to kill you.

As for WH , they can still be used to stealth steal flag...thats about it
Is it possible that many people still think they can go out and solo kill with their class. On average in scenario standings most people are very lucky to get 1 solo kill in 15mins. The most I've seen in one scenario is 3 solo kills the majority doesn't even land one solo kill, yet still people do die quite a bit in them. Each class is geared towards contributing to a team effort. Basically, learn to play as a teammate and you'll fair much better, continue to try soloing and you'll more than likely be picked apart fast.
I definitely agree with your stance about teamwork but...
In my experience I see people consistently get 5+ solo kills
BWs/Sorc push 10 per scenario if they play well enough.
obviously healers and probably tanks arent going to be getting as much....but dps classes like WE/WH/BW/Sorc i see getting many solo kills on a consistent basis.

That is it! I give up playing the witch hunter. The class is a joke...unable to kill healers, tanks, witch elf, magic users. Healers out heal your dps? You are definately doing something wrong. At 30, my zealot cannot keep himself alive vs a WH past the few seconds my morale 3 melee absorb, detaunt, and damage reduction buff last. All they have to do is wait about 10 seconds and my tricks are spent and I am dead.

You pop out of stealth, the healer immediatley pops a shield, Hots etc and runs to the nearest gang of friendlies. You've spent all your AP and the healer is still up and now you get floored by a mob of ppl. Tier 3 is worse due to many knockbacks.
The concept of a WH is a rogue-wow-esque without the dps or survival tools, in so far as I played. I tried many ways of playing but gave up with it in the end, then I later gave up on WAR

All I can say is from my experience in T3 against WH's of about equal level. The smart ones either silence me off the bat, then i am dead, or they wait their 10-15s duration of my abilities and kill me after. It doesn't matter, I am dead either way if I don't have some serious support ASAP.
Other thing I will tell you is that on my WE, I barely even stealth into the back lines. I normally hang by healers and casters and just decimate the overextenders, tanks included.
I just hit 12 with my WH this morning. It's been a lot of fun, so far. I'm consistently getting top damage dealt in scenarios (well, since I just hit T2, I'll have to see how I do) as long as I'm alive. I've also had up to 5 solo kills in a single scenario and can hold my own against most other classes one-on-one.
I also try to make use of utility skills to help either myself or my team mates. For example, I try to snare as much as possible, use incognito and shield burn against melee enemies, use position based attacks, etc...
I'm not an expert at the class by any means, but I didn't have any problems in T1 - hopefully that continues to be the case as I level higher.

As a healer I get killed more by WH than any other single class. Maybe there are just some really skillful WH players out there, but they usually use some kind of teamwork rather than just soloing me down. And even when I'm not killed, I'm still not healing my teamates, which can cause a tank or MDPS to die somewhere else.

My WH is 27 and dps may be a bit low, but to call the class worthless is ridiculous.
In my experience I can tear up a pre-occupied tank from behind while limiting his incoming healing.
I can do enough burst dmg to survey the battlefield and finish off any weak target regardless of class.
I can silence and smack the snot out of rdps.
To me the secret with WH is to not stay still for long. Stealthed or not, go in debuff, do dmg and get out of los and back to your healers. In a disorganized group you'll go down like a sack of potatos, but by then you've probably spooked their healer and turned their rdps to attack you as the rest of your team moves forward. Respawn/resurrect, rinse and repeat.
WH is a class that can use all it's skills on the run and even the 'snapshot' skill that does almost no dmg is great for catching stragglers. The other thing I enjoy about WH is that all the skills work well with one another.
There is a fair amount of inconsistancy from battle to battle with WH since you depend alot on positioning, parries and crits. and this may be what is so frustrating for the OP. but it is far from useless.
I have been playing a Witch Hunter and love it. You do have to actually use tactics and can't rush and try and tank the enemy. Stealth into the back ranks and attack the healers, pick off the enemies that are trying to run from a tank, there are plenty of ways for you to be very effective.
Perhaps people who are having trouble with a WH should try something that is more direct like the IB or SM.

sorry but T1 and T2 are light night and day
I just did my first T2 scenarios tonight and stand by my statements. I had a blast, did a decent amount of damage and was a solid contributing member of my scenario (especially nice, since I'd never seen that scenario before). In addition to straight up damage, I debuffed mobs and snared them, thereby making it easier for me and my team mates.
Guess I'l have to wait to T3/T4 to see how bad I allegedly suck...
That is it! I give up playing the witch hunter. The class is a joke...unable to kill healers, tanks, witch elf, magic users. Your Witch Hunter isn't the problem, invincible Healers are.
Healers are only invincible when other healers are supporting them. Individually, they are cake.
Of course there is the allegedly fixed bug where a healer could stack their 50% damage reduction buff with being guarded for 100% damage avoidance. But that will be fixed if it wasn't actually fixed when Mythic said it was last week. Bottom line is that healers are not invincible... oh, and if you can't kill one as a WH it is you that needs to LTP.
Rank 40 witchhunter here, the thread title had me in stitches. I am usually in the top 3 for kills and rp earnings.
I wouldn't trade my class for anything. Sounds like you might be playing the class wrong, maybe too much like a tank.
With the right spec, smartly chosen equipment and skill use, the witch hunter is a great class. Its true its not OP like the witch elf but... the fault there is with the witch elf not the witch hunter
The soon to come patch has several enhancements to the witch hunter that will make us even better. Can't wait.
Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence. Woe to thee, the pierce-ed.
I've seen WH's in T4 TEAR the enemy apart. Majority of the time, a well played WH will be in the top 2-3 in killing blows. My own WH is still in T3, but he definitely is not gimped if played right. A witch hunter is NOT a WoW rogue, where you pop out of stealth and own your target in 3 seconds. You have to pick your fights, hit and run tactics usually work wonderfully. If you see a squishy getting hit by others, sneak behind them, stab 'em, if they start to run away, use a ranged execute and usually they're toast. If you sneak into the middle of a mob of destro and attack someone, you're going to be dust in a few seconds. If you are smart, and choose your targets correctly, you can do some really nice burst damage. Going alone and thinking you're going to own any cloth wearer in the middle of his allies is going to get you killed in a quick second, but seeing your opportunities and attacking when you have the advantage is a guarantee for some easy RPs.
Got a WE in the 20s, it was fun, so I rolled a WH as well... Seems like the WE does more damage.
One thing I've not figured out is that the WH has finishing moves that use the pistol... do those moves use ballistic stat or str stat? IF ballistic, then that's a huge difference from WE... who gets to dump all stats into str and have it benefit all moves, where the WH would have to split.... anyone know about this for sure?
As for tactics, I wouldn't say these classes are useless in pvp at all... you have to pick your fights. Particularly, find some stragglers during enemy retreats... or lead people on enemy charges. Another good target is those ranged dps enemies that like to attack from the side (engineers, SH, SW, etc). Charging up the middle and getting hit by multiple peeps = quick death. Working in pairs is also extremely good. A couple of WEs on a straggler and they go down probably faster than from anything else in the game , (since they don't have the casting delays that BWs and Sorcs have).
I've just rolled a WH and I'm lvl 9 on a med pop server as I was sick of being on my own. So it's not worth investing in this character? It's fun in the T1 scenarios but obviously as I level I'll move up. Time to start again? I play for fun BTW rather than being the best.

If WH are forced to split their builds between Ballistics and Str, I would think that alone would tend to reduce their damage vs classes (all of the other ones) that only have to focus on one stat. Never palyed one, so I have no idea. Just a comment.
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.

As I understand it, yes it is split between strength and ballistics. The main advantage, which is very situational, is that when rooted we can still perform some of our executions on the guy running away from us. Which is extrordinarily awesome when it happens by the way. Since most casters, ranged and healers tend to run this works out quite well. Toe to toe however, is where we need to use caution as our dps output suffers. Where the WE is generally better in that regard as all their focus is on strength.
My WH is rank 32 and I have to agree with those supporting WH dominance Pick your fights, use the appropriate skills vs. whatever class your target is, know when to run and when to stop chasing (which is my weakness).
For the most part, any caster or ranged dps within 3-4 levels I can usually take out. Healers can be tougher, mostly because the fight can last longer than you want it too and they are able to get back to their team mates. I usually single out healers that are a couple levels lower than me and have no problem taking them out pretty quick. I try to coordinate with other WH's and/or BW's when going after higher level healers.
TBH I play an archmage and for all the people that are claiming that they own healers with a WH is laughable..to me of course...Ive had many WH try to silence me and it doesn't always work because I have counter abilities that take good care of that as well as high healing power and various enchantments and debuffs..My willpower is @ 650 and most of my resistances are above 450...
Not saying a WH can't kill me, just saying that it isn't as simple as it sounds when dealing with people that know thier class really well.
To OP it isn't the WH sux, maybe it just isn't a class for you..I have almost an alt for every class and I don't like alot of them, but I had to give them and honest try..So I would say just try another class and you will find your fit..
Its true its not OP like the witch elf but... the fault there is with the witch elf not the witch hunter
Rofl. The WE is OP? Just because your class name is Witch Hunter does not mean you should be able to wtfpwn a WE. Also, as far as I can tell from playing one and reading VN , the problem order has is with the ability to bypass armor and with some of the kisses. Well, chock those up to being "fixed" (nerfed) in patches. The WH is seeing increases in their power, while their "mirror" is getting nerfed, isn't that enough for you?
As a zealot, i am a bullseye for WHs. WHs can kill me with ease, and lately, i find myself cursing at my screen, "gd fn WHs" when i die. So, yes, please stop playing your WH, it will make my gameplay experience much more enjoyable.

I'll guess you mean WE rather than WH, as unless your own team is trying to kill you .....
Well, WE tear up my WP in T4 so fast it's scary, even when their detaunted and I'm guarded.

(agreeing with Syyth)
Your joking right?

lol , like this one.
