Haha this is too funny now really.

Frogster (German) makes sure to launch the german language servers on time and delays the rest for a week!

Meaning even Holland (Spellborn HQ) has to wait a week!

This has to be one of the weirdest MMORPG launches in history.

    - EU playerbase torn apart due to different publishers.

    - Different publishers having their own release dates. Even within the EU.

    - Publisher Frogster in EU can't even manage to launch the game on time  for all his countries.

    --------

Is it just me, am I the only one that senses this game turning into one big failure. Only this time it isn't the game itself, but thanks to the publishers.

yep couple that with the UK being Ip blocked for playing on EU servers and will have to have heavy pings to stateside servers then this is the weirdest launch in MMO history and I sense Epic fail.

As you say the game could be solid but administration is going to kill this game.

Yeah I wanted to try it on the 27th, one more week to go then.

Inability to commnunicate information properly, no advertisement, average PR (saw them in a major game exhibit though) with dedicated community managers trying to soothe the pain, delays, different publishers, no international launch day to impact the media, isolated servers, it's giving them a bad name, hope the game is good and will not suffer too much from this bumpy start Well mmorpgs are marathons more than sprints but still...

Yup their total inept and Imbecilic decision's could posibbly tear their game apart before they have even started .... and I for one would have no sympathy at all ... they have shown already that they have a total disregard for what their community wants.

You're right Guillermo, that's a list of ridiculous decisions and outcomes. Putting so many obstacles in the way of playing a game, which is going to struggle for attention anyway, is crazy.

    You forgot to add

-Mindscape not having enough boxes produced/shipped in time for release

"It came to our knowledge some moments ago that Mindscape Northern Europe (Publisher for Benelux/Scandinavia) was not able to have enough Boxes produced/shipped to retail for the 28th of November. "

Seems it just goes from bad to worse over there.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Yeah but they'll probably still do it next year .... I think it could be some sort of Virus or Disease that everyone has caught of FUNCOM , perhaps there is cure ?

Damn I never thought this game would fail this hard, and even before its released. Its really a shame, but like someone else said I dont feel sorry for them, they are mistakes that anyone with any sense should of forseen.

I really hope this will not discourage over developers from trying something new.

FC devs have a "failure virus" and there is no cure for that. Only thing FC devs can do is change from gaming to fast food industry like their old game director Gaute.

The only cure for that, I think is to start making MMOs for the love of the genre and the community that pays to play em. Right now all these companies are lookin at is the money part n not the community or any love of the genre.

I am sure it is easy to use Amazon ( never use it myself, so i cant comment)  and get a copy, however, what i wanted to share on my post, was how dificult was actually getting the game at almost any gaming shop, on germany, on the relase day.

As i also wanted to share the joke this guy  made about his first ever quest into TCOS lore :)    meaning, finding the game at any given shop, wich i found really funny, the way he portrait, the fact, many people, cant actually find the game at shops :)

So i am sure, it is easy to get a copy on Amazon, but, it is it is redundant.
