DnL Release Date Incorrect

MMORPG.com needs to update their release date for DnL. It was pushed back to April/May of 2005.

Open Beta is scheduled to commense October/November.

Hmm.. I know it says October at the earliest.. but even if it would start a few months later than that, like January, that would be one hell of a long open beta...

why would you guys listen to PT?  She doesnt know anything!

My understanding is that they plan on implementing a few systems DURING open beta because they want to see how things interact when there is a realitively full player base - things like raids, guild systems and transportation spring to mind.

They definately dont listen to any rules over in France

The long beta and scheduled open beta shows that they aren't rushing their game AT ALL, along with the fact that they delayed it tons of times. Unlike many games, who rush their open betas and whatnot.

For the first time ever, I feel the developers are doing the right things for the game, for the long run. Not to rush it to market just to make a dime. They are developing this for a long haul. They want us to be involved for years. The devs have proven they listen to suggestions made on the DnL forums and they respond (at least better than I have seen from anyone else) to our requests as best they can. I see DnL being around far longer than your WOW's and your SWG's etc. Patience will bring good things. I was just looking at screens from Mourning and I thought, wow, that looks like a great game too. Then I jumped back over to DnL and, as good as Mourning looks, there is no visual comaprison. Gameplay will tell all. There was a recent upsurga about DnL NOT having WASD movement as an option. With in several days of complaints on the forums, the devs responded to the forum requsts and included WASD as an option. That one instance, out of countless, tells me that DnL will be as strong in it's game play as it is good to look at. I think this will be THE MMORPG by this time next year.

I do not see open beta starting in October seeing that the close beta has not sent out it's invites yet for their stress tests. I think more like January instead. But I do beleave this game is going to rock!

Your right DnL will not start in october really but we can sure hope! All we can do now is wait.

Hmm wasn't there some sort of discussion that there will be no open beta at all? I recon it was something like they will invite most people to the final stage of beta from major guilds/clans and only 10k of other people who have subscribed to beta. Don't take this too seriously thought, as I'm really not sure about this.

There will be a open beta, but not for all. They will be testing with 10K players or more by three or four months, and after fixing all the bugs and with all the content added, they will launch a free trial for everyone.
After that they will launch the game.

there will be no open beta but at the last stage of beta they will let in 10k pll. they say beta is bad overall bcus pll play it and get a bad inpression and most beta testers just hope around betas and never pay for one so there really isnt  a point so they say and i agree with them

OPEN BETA = A public beta open to EVERYONE.

What you said doesn't make sense at all.

Oh, and I think they should at least let in the members that registered more than 3-4+ months into the last phase of beta at least. (That have been active)

Ok, so there will be a BIG Closed Beta followed by a free trial for everyone before release, or at release.

5K people will be selected for this current beta phase. They were supposed to be selcted already, but the DnL team said they are changing their selection process which is delaying said process (they are picking most of the 5K based on participation in the forums and overall contribution to the DnL community). The selection process used to be random based heavily on system stats. I.E. They select the system stats they want people to have for the phase of beta in question and randomly select participants within the resulting pool.

It's cool that they are listening to their community and changing that selction process. IMO, they are doing the right thing.
