    wow 18 in one minute?!

    thats pretty crazy

I talked to the Dev today and they are implementing pvp shortly. They said a lot of the game will be about pvp. The crafting system is simply the best one I've ever seen.

I've been checking as much as possible, but every time I try to get an account, it's closed. I do want to try this, though. The "make your own realm" part intrigues me.

I too am one of those that has said repeatedly I refuse to play a game with an item shop, but this one would be an exception! Though I would much rather them go the membership route than the item shop, I can't wait to try this game out!  At least it is an American made game and not an asian item shop. I do not mind paying a sub for a game that gives me what I want.. hell I pay subs on games I don't even like!
I love this concept of creating the world, I am sure that is  the main issue with server space atm due to the ever expanding map. I would love for them to get the kinks worked out and get this game off the ground. This game basically has done everything everyone else was saying could not be done. I will trade the new game graphix engines anyday for this kind of quality gameplay.
The possibilities with a game like this are endless... definately has my attention!
Why doesn't mmorpg have this on the lists yet?!

i think the developers need to talk with MMORPG to get it on the game list, though i dont exactly remember

Yeah it's called payola to MMORPG to get listed!!!! Actually, I don't know if that is true or not, but, it should be!

Hmmm.. Maybe there is a Mod around here that could answer this? Anyone???!! C'mon MMORPG you gotta have someone around here that will go check them out and make them a forum! These guys did what everyone was saying couldn;t and would not be done. They made a game that gave many players what they have been asking for.  You can access everything the game has to offer from one player, without levels, gave us combat and noncombat skills,  players actually create the world, without the restrictions and limitations that every other game on the market said were necessary.. Oh yea and it is MADE IN THE USA!  I applaud them for going against the mainstream and actually listening to what players want. 'Bout time someone did!

MMORPG.COM does not list a game until all criteria http://www.mmorpg.com/faq.cfm/showFaq/4/I-think-there-is-a-game-that-needs-to-be-added-to-your-list-How-do-I-submit-this.html  are met AND the developers contact them. So if you want it listed, you need to have the developers contact stradden@mmorpg.com .

Maybe they are waiting until they have enough server space.. They don't need any more advertising yet they have too many people wanting in already! LOL Reminds me of those people breaking down the doors at that walmart on black friday trying to get in! AHHH! lol

So the developers have to make first contact? So Blizzard actaully contacted you guys and asked for a forum for WoW to be opened up??

Im not sure I buy that?!

Why wouldn't Blizzard asked to be put on the largest site that is devoted to MMOs? It's a site that many people go to in order to get their information and being on the site is essentially free advertising.

It's not like Blizzard is so big and important that they wouldn't contact the largest MMO site there is to get what amounts to free advertising. If a company would refuse to be put on a site like this they need to have some of  their PR/marketing staff canned.

Can anyone in the beta tell me what display resolutions the game supports?

  • ThenariusThenarius Member Posts: 1,106

Hmmm, any chances for the accounts to be available again(or for a current beta tester to tell them to open it for a few minutes)?

  • Tr0nc3kTr0nc3k Member Posts: 30

     That would be great. :)

All I want to know is 9:30 in what time zone? :)

     Yay, got into beta! :)

At first I was kinda disapointed with the small display (the actualy display is 4:3 in windowed mode and you can use the space left and right for other windows like inventory, spell books etc...), but the more I played, the more I liked it.

Very old schoolish, lots of stuff to do, great community!

Let's hope is stays this way when they release it.

There a way for me to contact them to get a beta invite? I'm dying for a decent sandbox.

    Cheers

The best chance is you register on their forums and be an active member of the community.

Once they setup the new hardware and add a tutorial into the game, they will let more players in.

  • Tr0nc3kTr0nc3k Member Posts: 30

Just a heads-up; the devs will be adding a new server this weekend so they will open up registrations for more people.

    You have been warned. ;)

Any updates on this? I still haven't been able to get in.

  • Tr0nc3kTr0nc3k Member Posts: 30

They open up for a minute or so everyday, but they will soon get back to the invite system.

This game does look interesting.   I'm curious about a few things though, and perhaps the people playing can elaborate a bit more.

It sounds like there's alot more to the loot than just your typical sword, armor, potion and coin.  This seems like it might be pretty fun.  But my question for you guys, are there LOTS of different types of equipment?  I mean something along the lines of Diablo or Titan Quest.  Lots of variations on stats and damage?  Or is it more just for cosmetics?

Which brings me to question 2.  What id the diversity of appearance in regards to equipment?  I watched the video.  Very colorful and lots of cool stuff.  But it keeps showing the same characters, all with the same appearance.  I like loot to mean something.  It should be upgrades as far as power, and it should have distinct looks that reflect the accomplishments you've made.

How "deep" do the skills go?  For example, you're working on your sword skill (no idea what this is called).  You miss alot early on, but as your skill goes up, you miss less and your damage increases perhaps?  Is there anymore to it than that?  Does it unlock the ability to use better swords or something?

I'm very curious about the controls.  It sounds like your typical mmo setup.  target mob, select auto-attack, and throw in some special abilities.  Are there any tactics involved?  Like in mythos, you could kite around a bunch of mobs, then do a quick 180 when they were all in a line, and use some bolt spell thing, and hit them all.  Any cool stuff like this?  Or is it just target, auto-attack, pew pew, watch mob die, loot, repeat?

What is to stop someone from creating a zone and throwing 12 dragons in it with INSANE loot, but with only 1 hp each?  How will exploits like this be handled?  I know I did this with NWN.  I created a dungeon, with some awesome rare mobs, and their treasures were these incredibly powerful custom weapons and armor.  It ruined the game for me after that.  Sounded like fun, but it ended up being pretty bad.

Hopefully some of you will read this and reply.  I look forward to the answers.

     A message from the developer.

"Just a heads up, we're planning to open the beta application page several times today over the next 7 hours. How long we have it open will depend on the response."

Sure I'll do my best.  I play/played the game.

Yes there is a ton of equipment... and they all seem to have random stats (maybe not random).   Similar to diablo type items -- again can't confirm if they are random -- but there are alot.

Which brings me to question 2. What id the diversity of appearance in regards to equipment? I watched the video. Very colorful and lots of cool stuff. But it keeps showing the same characters, all with the same appearance. I like loot to mean something. Lots of variety in color and looks of eqiupment.  And it's only beta... and there is already a ton.

How "deep" do the skills go? For example, you're working on your sword skill (no idea what this is called). You miss alot early on, but as your skill goes up, you miss less and your damage increases perhaps? Is there anymore to it than that? Does it unlock the ability to use better swords or something?

Well each weapon has it own set of abilities... ie parry, and a variety of other special attacks.  As you skill skill up in melee:swords, blunt, or range, you unlock these abilities on the weapon.  And skills advance just like UO.  Haven't played long enough to confirm exactly what high skills do in the combat department.  But in magic it unlocks spells and crafting it unlocks more craftables.

There is auto-attack and special attack and magic -- combat is very much like UO... click on mob and watch die... and drink health potions or run :)  It's a little boring, but it's always exciting looting the mob to see what you get.

Right now you can't place mobs on your zone to fight.

The game is very much like UO... not as much or detailed skills at UO yet... but the graphics are way better, the comunity is way better, and there are more items then UO has.
