Hi,
I've played Vanguard before but never leveled a character past 30. Since it's been a while, I figured I'd ask around for some information regarding classes; I'd like to try something new this time around.
Question #1:
What is a Paladin's role mid to high end game? How is soloablility?
Question #2:
What is the most effective/sought after healer? Soloability?
Question #3:
How do Shaman forms work, and how effective are these forms?
Question #4:
What is currently the highest dps melee class? Caster class?
Thanks!

So basically your looking to solo Vanguard and looking for the "easiest" class to play that puts of the most damage. There are too many classes that are unique and each lends itself to others.
That being said: Pallys are great, CLR's are the best healers but DISCs are fun (everyone is playing one)
Not looking for the 'easiest', but yes solo viability is important. The Vanguard population isn't exaclty booming so solo play, while not my first choice is sometimes necessary. Just a few questions is all, but thanks for trying to put me in a box like that.
I leveled a monk up to 50. Tons of fun, I was on the FFA-PVP server, the monk was king (before the druids were op, 2 level 15 druids could kill me >_<) But to answer your questions....
Question #1:
What is a Paladin's role mid to high end game? How is soloablility? ----- Not sure, never played one.
Question #2:
What is the most effective/sought after healer? Soloability? ----- Blood mages are great
Question #3:
How do Shaman forms work, and how effective are these forms? ----- No idea, sorry
Question #4:
What is currently the highest dps melee class? Caster class? ------ Dragon Monks spew out damage. Its been a while since I played, but Druids killed just about anything. Not sure if they got the nerf that they deserve.
Alot of skills are not on the same "global cooldown". With that being said, there are some skills that can be cast almost instantly with other skills. Get good at making macro's and your DPS will sky-rocket.
1:
Palas are the defensive tanks of the game with a lot of healing. They solo good but slow.
2:
The most sought class are tanks on my server. Soloability is: DK -> PAL -> WAR
3:
You have the possibility to play "in skin" or with your pet. Pets generally are weak so most shamans play in form. Skin for bear is pretty awesome, good for wolf, bird I dont know.
4:
Generally: Melee is ranger, caster is sorcerer.
#1 Paladins are as a good a tank as any in the end game. There are fights were warriors excel, Dread-Knights excel and Paladins excel.... but in the end game, they make a damn fine tank. And I would guess of all the tanks Paladins would have the best soloability due to their heals.
#2 Cleric is probably the most sought after healer in the end game, but that depends on the cleric path they choose. Couldn't tell you much about cleric soloability, I'm sure that is also heavily dependant on the path they choose.
#3 I believe the Shaman sub-classes are Turgin, Hayatet and Rakurr. Once again, the abilities of this class vary greatly on the Spirit God chosen and they way one elects to distribute their points and gear their character. The best solo shaman is a Turgin shaman.
#4 Rogues usually top our dps logs for melee and Sorcerers or Druid for Casters. Once again, very dependent on how well someone knows how to play their class and how they've built their character.
Thanks for the responses!
