Has anyone found a MMO that is "Verified by VISA" I been looking all over and it seems that not even blizzard has bothered with this... Am I missing something here?
Good point. I don' t think I've ever had the "Verified by Visa" window pop up..whenever dealing with an MMO. The closest that would qualify would be when I order AOC off of Amazon....lol...actually pretty scary. On another post just recently....I mention client confidentiality...and that My Visa debit was replaced 2x in last 8 months because I used it with a company(s) who had a security compromise. They would not reveal the questionable company(s) for client privacy reasons..despite that I was inconvenienced twice (and not told until i received the new card in the mail and after my old card was inactive..fortunately no problems resulted)...and possibly from the same company. I agree with the client privacy being enforced..but now that you mention ...it could very well be due to payment info taken from an mmo. I've been trying quite a few lately..including Stationpass through SOE...2 games through Turbine and AoC . The "Verified by Visa" added security would be greatly welcomed and appreciated.
Yeah I acctually just read that post from you. The reason I would like to see some "Verified by VISA" on MMO games is that I don't feel like getting a credit card here in Finland just to play MMO's. AOC says it has Visa Electron support... But my finnish bank needs a "Verified by VISA" to allow net payments. It's a good service in it's own, and I keep seeing more and more posts on diffrent forums about people not being able to buy or extend subscriptions due to lack of credit cards. As I understood when looking into it a little, getting the "Verified by VISA" isn't all that expensive compared to other verifications so don't see why no one bothers with it.
The service from my bank for cardholders is free. I just started getting the opportunity to use it ..and just on some sights. Newegg...Amazon...can't remember the others. It really should be a requirement of all paysites with the rampant fraud on the internet.
By the by...I like AoC but be careful when you mention it on this forum site..... it's like leaving your jugular open to a pack of wild rabid jackals.
edit: apparently Japan is at 60% for online gaming utilizing Verified by Visa and pushing for 100% by year's end
