Heya guys...I kinda play a Asmo Sin and Chanter both at level 10..but after hearing from a few that Chanters are kinda sucky and Assassins aren't good at MASS PvP or 1 on 1 with certain classes ....would really like to know which classes do reasonably well at overall PvP...I surely hope there isn't just ONE class as I want to keep my options open...Also, if I can make my Chanter VERY competitive..what do I need to do???
Thanks for the replies

*caveat* I have not played this game, only watched videos and read countless reviews/posts/opinions.
As far as pvp for assasins and chanters...chanters I havent seen many videos on so I cant comment...perhaps Stayontarget may have more information about it. However I have seen plenty of assasin videos and they seem to do very well against most classes 1 v 1. In MASS pvp assasins imo at least are very useful...usually you want them around to ambush the support classes. This is basic pvp 101 I think. In MASS pvp I would imagine the assasins are the best...because so much is going on and so many other people arent paying attention. Usually in pvp, in most casses players dont have a plan...they kinda just go in and try to kill the other one first. IMHO if you use a stealth class correctly you can turn the tide of any battle.
As far as chanters go...they seem to be more support then anything else. They may have a viable damage spec build, but im not aware of it. I see chanters as close combat heal/buff/dps very simmilar to WOW shamans...at least thats how I feel they work.
There may be certain classes that are better then others right now, however you have to give some thought to the fact that this game has not released in NA/EU. There is a good chance that any imbalances will be fixed and all classes will become useful.
I think atm even though sorcerers look like the be all end all. Glads and assasins are the ones to watch out for. They may need to get close to you...but from what ive seen...once they get that close it gets very interesting.
anyway thats my 2 cents.
Well if your looking for high dps and quick kills then sorc or cleric will do.
Looking for surviability the templar or galdiator will do.
Ranger and assassin are high dps classes, one from range and the other close support.
Assassins only start getting better after level 23.
Have no idea on what chanters are capable of.
As of right now: sorcerer, Cleric, and assassin is the best in PvP. SM is a beast pvping on the ground and Templar is hard as hell to kill at max lvl. IMO
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
Sorcs may be good now but I read they have some abilities that are atm bugged and will be fixed (not nerfed, just fixed) Sorcs are imo too soft although they have some decent CC
I wouldnt reccomend Rangers to anyone unless someone can show me different, gladiators either.
I wasnt aware clerics were very good with dmg as Clerics primary roles are healing.
My two votes to Assassin and Chanter.
Assassins are basically WoW rogues
Chanters are like melee priests
Both are very strong in pvp.
Cleric's are like nuker- tanks.
Mace & shield with chain mail, great heals, Nukes, DOT's that will flat-out kill you if you don't have a cure for it. And a CC. One of there nukes can stun also, not sure if they can stun with the mace.
Cleric's are pure evil right now.

Rangers are pretty decent with attack speed equipment, they can 4 shoot a sorcerer before they even realize someone is hitting.
Sorcerers are pretty good with a proper setup, but that class has a steep learning curve compared to others.
Assassins are awesome on ground, but fail on the air, a group of assassins can destroy a bunch of parties in less than a minute, though.
Templars get pretty imba with endgame stuff.
Overally, playing in 1.2 I'd say the game is pretty balanced towards the end, with some classes you'll go through more frustration than with others while reaching the endgame.
Thanks a lot for the replies....Just wanted to know though....do assassins rely a lot on their crits???
Also...I read thread somewhere about a particular gear which increases the aspd of a Chanter....
Playing a Sorcerer atm though :P
Here is a pretty sweet cleric pvp video on youtube.
Hmm...interesting.
I was playing an assassin but Im not quite sold on the class just yet.
And I see so many assassins and so few clerics, I think I might give one a go.
Sin's crit rate is high to begin with, almost all there gear gives some form of crit rate increase. I would say (coming from someone who has been killed by them a lot) the biggest thing the sin has going for them is stealth, stuns, attack speed, and crit rate. The down side to this class is there very hard to lvl up and total "weak sauce" in the begining and mid-game. If your gonna roll a Sin make sure you got some patience.
