1)You so called vets whining like bitches constantly
2)vets thinking hardcore= crappy game design.
3)Vets thinking sandbox means hardcore, NO it D0ES NOT.
4)You whining bitches that jump from game every 2 months saying you dont like it.
    5)  Thinking that somehow pathetic game dsign, and no features is hardcore, if you want hardcore then why dont u have just a plane grass gorund and duke it out with your fists because its quite obviuos, you hardcore players dont need wepaons armour, quests, levels, skills, or anything.
7)Thinking that somehow because a game that is polished and has features to aid the player is somehow ruining the mmo genre.  If that was the case the lest all go back to the 1970s with balck and white screens and ping pong.
    8)  So called vets thinking they have the right to tell the majority of the playerbase what is a good mmo and what is crap.

NWESflash,  Why dont all you so called vets get a grip on reality, because the MMO genre is moving on, and quite frankly either like it or PISS OFF, because the genre would be actually better without you so called "Vet experts".  Nobody gives a crap what you people think anymore, hell you retards are still going on about SWG after all these years, probably when the new star wars game comes out you wont like it, hell even when MO comes out so called vets will hate it, or start saying the game is only for the so called hardcore thast why its no popular lol.

I assume your first mmo was WoW. Yes this is the part when everything you say is ridiculous and get bashed for it lol. We all know your a Blizzard Intern who wants the job. So you come on to these forums to spread your mmo vet hate propaganda so you can fit in with that community. In reality I believe you really wish you could experience what an mmo really was back in the day and your just left out. It's ok little buddy, we are glad you didnt play with us so you can get over it. Seriously, you remind me of about 4 people I use to argue with about this stuff on WoW. It's pointless really.

    Dumb butt.

You can make level 5 soloing in EQ, if your gaming skills are somewhat below that of a five year old

My daughter was progressing a little farther than that by five. 8P

Personally, I've soloed to level cap on quite a few classes, never had any real issues. You just have to know how to play each class. NOT being ADD really helps, poor Timmy never really made it past mid-level in Everquest.

MMOs were fun when the concept was new.....it isn't anymore.

It's the newness everyone misses. It's  not really the games.

mmos are the past lol theres a stupid statement if ever i heard one . if anything mmos are more popular now than they have ever been because of warcraft . the games we see now are a little limited in what they can offer . like anything else they will continue to improve and become more and more complex in what they offer .the mmos of tomorrow with make the mmos of today look like pac man .

But they need newer shinier graphics, then in the same breath say graphics don't matter=)  They say they want a new game, then in the same breath want all the same ol tired and forgotten systems in MMOs, circa 1998.  So, they really don't want a new game.  They want the FEELING of their old games and haven't come to grips with reality...that FEELING is NEVER going to return.   Be mature about it and just face the truth already.

The real topper is even if they got that same feeling, then they'd complain no one innovates; that it's just the same 'ole same 'ole.

Simple untill you realize those original games no longer exist. In their place is garbage that has been patched together into something else. None of those games are the same games anymore, they have the same name and that is it. Believe me if an EQ trilogy server existed that is where I would be playing. Single player games will always be there to play again, MMOs change over time so drastically it is foreign to the original players.

You think that maybe theres a reason MMOs evolve over time?  Everything evolves.  You weren't the same back in 1998 were you=)  It would be pretty sad if after almost 10 years, you wanted the exact same thing.  Every single person I played MMOs with back in the 90s have grown up.  They don't have the schedual, patience or time anymore.   NONE of them want MMOs to be like what they were, because none of them can dedicate themselves like you were forced to.    There were just too many tedious things that no one I know wants to revisit.   Maybe some people here complaining about the good ol days are still living in the good ol days, which is why they can't handle the evolution.  Kind of sad if you ask me.

People make mistakes too. Devs change their games in the direction they want to see them game go or the direction they think we want to see them go. Sometimes it works out and the players are happy, more subscribe or just stick around for long periods of time. Sometimes they make decisions that end up hurting the game (SWG CU/NGE) and in the process turn the game into something that the current players no longer enjoy. Most of the games I have played have done it somewhere along the line.

I never was a big fan of WoW but my friends who did play it have said many times that WoW before BC was a much better game. No game is the same today as when it launched so it's pretty ignorant to tell people just to go play a game because it has the same name of a game you enjoyed 10 years ago. Obviously you have never complained about any change in any game or you wouldn't be calling anyone sad.

For those that did play in the 90's and are still looking for a new game in the same vein, well those games are still around and probably have new content since they played them.

You just aren't getting it Blue.  UO and EQ are NOT the same games they were in 1999.  Believe me, if UO had just stopped adding content after T2A and just updated the existing content, graphics, fixed bugs, etc.  I would still be playing today.  Unfortunately the UO of today is completey different than the UO of the 90s.

If you don't believe me, I still play occasionally on a free shard that is set in the T2A timeframe.  Unfortunately this is also very different than playing on an official server.

Truth is, for people like me who want an experience like UO was before Trammel, there isn't one out there.  I'm looking to Mortal Online to be that game, but I'm not getting my hopes up after seeing how bad Darkfall turned out.

I just can't figure out why there still isn't a sandbox made for cheap? Something like isometric view, looking like Diablo/Runescape with a Hinterland feel to it. Slightly improved graphics and animations. Having shitton of options to build, demolish or operate, rich editor tools for players to make things.

I know there would be alot of baah, isometric is the past, graphix sux is cartoonixzs, but I believe there is enough people that would like it enough to make it work. Not because of the numbers, but because it would be cheap enough and graphicly unintense enough to maintain.

Something like that almost flash like Space sim, but with more persistance and little people, not spaceships.
