I am posting this to get interested people involved in the fight against censorship, specifically on youtube. Please watch the video and comment or attempt to get involved if you are willing and able.

You know how many videos critical of Obama were snatched down during the election season? Now the nazi-lefty crybabies on youtube get a taste of their own bigotry and get all upset over it. What comes around goes around.

Your comment clearly reads as tho you were speaking of me; if you didn't mean me, then your wording was very poorly chosen, and your comment makes no sense.
Youtube isn't censoring people, The Discovery Institute is. They are filingillegal DMCA complaints against a youtube user for being critical of one of their news appearances. If you had watched the video you would know this...
I am glad that you are very much in support of the rights of a corperation, now show you are in support of the rights of individuals. Unless you don't value individual rights and are merely corperate stoog who does as Rush beckons?

I did not have time to watch the video, but censorship on the internet is a very serious problem. So is the access to books, information, knowledge, and so forth.
We better get serious about these issues NOW --although in some ways people could say it is already too late-- before information is sold piecemeal such as through each book or subscription-based through Google books.
I have a hard time "learning" online. I am very paper-based. I enjoy newspapers and books very much. I am constantly reading several books, learning a different language, and so forth. Yet the generation younger than me is very (very) web-based. The problem is that so much learning, and communication, will be internet-based. SImply put, large corporations such as Google can impede "learning" online by simply controlling access to information and books and web pages and so forth. Google could for instance censor a book or charge a greater fee to access it.

I agree with intelligent design / creationism as much as the next atheist, but, as a previous poster had mentioned, youtube is a private company and they can do whatever they please. Even if their filings were invalid (Discovery) , they could still choose to delete your video to avoid controversy.
I also quesiton the integrity of your claim: While what they did was wrong, turning it into a legal issue is not much better and it could be just another publicity ploy like 99.9% of everything else out there that is shoved down our throats on CNN.
There are much bigger issues than youtube censorship out there involving our government, so why distract everybody?

You need to stop looking at the world from a black & white, or in this case left and right, perspective. It gives you a very incorrect view on life that doesn't match reality. The two things you're trying to connect here are completely unrelated.
Youtube has turned into a shitpile. That's the curse of popularity...

I think some of you are missing the point. This is not about youtube telling users what they may and may not put on their site, they already do this and it's with in their rights to do so.
What this is about is one group intimating individuals who speak out against them, and doing so illegally. This is not only illegal, and it is quite illegal (punishment of a few years in prison AND major fines), but it is also highly unethical. Youtube might be a shadow of it's former self but it is still one the biggest and most viewed sources of discourse available online. Youtube is one of the few places that people like you and I can speak out against things we disagree with, and comment on those things we do agree with.
If we let little creationist groups illegally threaten, harass and censor youtube users, we are letting freedom of speech and information erode a small bit every time we don't act.
So if you believe in freedom of speech, support this video, host it, and do what ever little things you may do to help. Let would be silencers of truth everywhere know that your not going to put up with this bullshit.
No ones asking for your money or free time, just a small online show of support, like posting this video on your myspace or other forums so it spreads.

I get what you are saying but I strongly disagree.
First Youtube is not getting rid of videos to avoid contraversy, the discovery institute is exploiting a feature of youtube to silience a user. The video is in fact being mirror by dozens of youtube users atm and is not in threat of being taken down. None of this is the point. The point is the discovery institute is sploitng (figure I'd put it in terms of an mmo'er
. And they are sploiting to silience some one for speaking out against them. Read the above post of mine for more on this.
Second this is not going to become an issue that will dominate the headlines and news channels even if the discovery institute gets taken to court, which I hope they do. This is a relatively small issue that deserves some attention, but don't expect to see it get any attention at all from cables new shows etc. This is not an issue that's going to prolong the Iraq war, stunt the movement towards full reform of health-care, or dig us deeper into economic recession.
Third, while I am sure you do not intend to say this, your post could be interpreted as "Well this isn't the worst way they could fuck us, so lets just ignore it." I know you're not saying that, but we cannot let any group silince individuals who legally speak out against them. That is the absolute corner stone of fascism and if you value your freedom you must fight it.
