WTB PvP!

Dex23541Dex23541 Member Posts: 16

Alright, I'm back looking for a new game! This time I'm in the mood for something PvP-Centric or with a PvP-heavy community. I would like to find a game where PvP is accessible from all level ranges (No, grind 200 levels to be able to PvP) where PvP is encouraged through rewards (Gear, XP, Faction or Zone bonuses). As for the actual type of PvP I really enjoy RvR and/or Siege type combat but that's not to say I don't enjoy open world PvP and skirmishing. I would like to avoid instanced PvP but I'd rather take a solid instanced PvP game that a crappy Siege game. Oh, and P2P or F2P both work for me. As for the game community, it can be full of e-peen stroking elitists as long as it's fairly active.

Please do not suggest:

WoW

WAR

Darkfall

EVE

Cheers!

Mainly PvP..? Try EQ2 IMO... You can PvP from level 10 and up and you surely will (...if you choose a PvP server...)

EQ2 is anything but a PvP game, it's PvP is terrible.

Anyways I would suggest Lineage II to the OP, except that you need to spend a bit of time leveling before you can get active in the current PvP that is going on. The games PvP is great though.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll give the free trials for both games a look, please continue to suggest games! Just because I download an try a game doesn't necessarily mean I'll enjoy it. I'll let the thread know when I've found a game.

Guild Wars is always one which comes up when PvP is mentioned... maybe not your cup of tea but it's a very PvP-oriented game.

Other than that... all other reasonable PvP games have been mentioned.

Plenty of games have PvP in them but they're not known for their PvP (City of Heroes for example... the PvP isn't great but it's very different from anything else you'll try... Although it's been ruined recently. It used to be a lot faster paced)

MMOs played (In order of how much I've liked them): Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Vanguard, City of Villains / Heroes, Guild Wars, Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Tabula Rasa, Anarchy Online, Ryzom, Final Fantasy XI, Matrix Online, RF Online, Rappelz, Hero Online, Roma Victor

EQ2 has PvP if you go to a PvP server... I think the system sucks too,  but some ppl might like it ;)

L2 crossed my mind as well (duhuh ^^), but it takes too long for OP to reach descent level where you can actively PvP :(

So it's EQ II , L II, or no dice? That's too bad that the PvP niche is so narrow now when trying to get away from the super titles.

Guild Wars definitely has the shortest grind of any of the games you mentioned...you can actually create a PvP character instead of a PvP/PvE character right off the bat so that you can just immediately PvP, but I don't really think thats as fun as the game to be honest.  Finding your own skills, joining a guild, climbing the leaderboard on GvG and getting to Hall of Heroes.

I haven't played the game for three years but if it's even remotely similar to the game it was when I bought it originally, it should probably satisfy some PvP craving.
