Vista and Asheron's Call don't get along very well with each other.

    Uninstall McAfee.

    Be a man. I don't run anti-virus software. I'm still alive.

Make sure you have SP2 for Vista, that solved the majority of anti-virus confusion.

However McAfee still seems to be the most difficult anti-virus, not to mention it's not that great of an anti-virus to begin with. If you do have SP2 installed, I would suggest trying any other anti-virus out there and the problem should go away.

I had the same problem friend and sent a mail to the devs. i have to say they replied the next day which was impressive, but they gave that same link and told me that if that didn't work they couldn't offer me anymore help! My trial ran out without me even getting a chance to try the game :( i asked on a few forums also but was just sent to the same link.

Seems this game is just not compatable with most vista set up's im afraid.

I am able to run the game on Vista. I'm pretty sure the problem is his anti-virus software. ACs problem isn't really Vista, it's the combination of anti-virus software and Vista. Even disabling the anti-virus softare doesn't work. You have to compeltely uninstall it.

Like I said, I don't waste my money on anti-virus softare, but others have suggested using AVG. It supposedly works with Vista and AC.
