Looking at this collection of FF:s. It seems like CH was quite a lot played profession and loved by the players.

What was "their" argument to remove CH? And what was the real reason?
I hope they didn´t lie and say something like "nobody plays CH anyway" when in reality they changed the whole core game and it showed to be a pure mess to develop CH in.
lol :P
EDIT: And the day the Astromech is posted, isn't it like five days before they annouced the NGE or something?
Now Playing: LotRO:MoM Waiting for: Earthrise, The Warhammer 40k mmo
Collecting dust on my shelf: Ultima Online, EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, Shadowbane, Lineage II, SWG, EQ2, D&D Online, Vanguard:SoH, Tabula Rasa, PoTBS, AoC, WAR

My CH is long dead it was the most fun i had in a mmo, this ex CH and EX SWG player salutes the other ex Ch's and ex-players.
The great CH Screwjob. Oh, the memories given to me by the liars at SOE.
At firsrt, SOE implied that CH weasn't really a utilized profession worth keeping when the NGE was developed and released. Then the truth came out......the devs couldn't make CH work due to targeting issues with the NGE, so it was easier to just delete the profession.
I had to do CH for one of my holo professions and was pleasently surprised at how much fun it was. I then understood why there was so much passion for that profession, and I probably would have gone back to it again had there been more time to play it.
And before someone says it's still in game as Beast Master I'll have to remind them that CH, for me at least, was about taming - not crafting.
Well my two accounts went with the ch lol was a fun game but no more.
I miss my CH
On one of the vet trials i did try there new system lol didn't like it at all.
But I play a f2p with creature like ch classes its not the same, but its better then whats in swg now.
MY crafter did Force Sensitive: Crafting Mastery
Man was that a pain to do .
Its interesting to see that Smuggler was so high up there.
You would think that, with smuggler being so loved by the player base, it wouldn't have gotten the ill treatment for so long that it did (and still does to some degree).
/grumble
It wasn't that they couldn't make the targeting work, it was that they didn't want to put forth the effort to try to make the targeting work. The conversation went something like 'Pets get in the way of the targeting reticle... Okay, cut 'em.'. Helios' explanation didn't sound like they put any effort into making pets work, and it didn't make it sound like there were any directives from above to streamline what would become the classes. It seems like most of what was the NGE was there, or not there, based on the limitations of the ability of the folks who worked on it. At least Dan Rubenfield is proud of what they accomplished. I'm sure he is ecstatic on the mornings when he is able to get at least some of the butter on his toast.
"To some degree"? Smuggler is currently a scaled down version of pistoleer with the ability to take delivery missions that require you to drive from one town to another and maybe get attacked by some NPCs along the way. How has the smuggler class been not ill treated? There is nothing that makes the class anything near what a smuggler class should be. A half assed job was put forth to give smuggler an expanded version of the delivery missions that have been in the game from the start, and a small amount of effort has been put forth to fiddle with the talent trees. That is as little effort as was put forth to nerf the smuggler skill trees back when the game had the potential be a good game.
Everything that has been done with the game in the past several years has been little more than pissing in the wind. No matter how strong the wind is blowing, they don't deserve credit for having a few drops hit something other than themselves.

I was being modest =D
In reality, my frustrations with the smuggler class, its treatment, and where the developesr have it now would fill a full page =]
You know, looking at the OP's profession list, I find it amusing that my favorite profession, Commando, was played less than Creature Handlers lol
Oh well, that's what happens when only one class weapon is viable out of several, and only best against unarmored targets...
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." (First Lieutenant Clifton B. Cates, US Marine Corps, Soissons, 19 July 1918)
Creature Handler was removed because of the whiners in the community, plain and simple.
the creature handlers... they got the big screw job. being a ranger i feel the pain. supposedly we had a revamp coming soon! liars.
