If you are a subscriber to Warhammer, how do feel about the Mythic folks helping the Bioware with their MMO?
I think its safe to say, Warhammer needs a lot of work, and as a paying customer, I feel a bit put off they are taking resources from this game, and using them elsewhere.
I have full intentions of trying TOR, but I'm wondering how much longer I'll be subscribed to Warhammer now, having been close to the cancel button several times already.

Not everyone employed by Mythic works on WAR.
Its a matter of money. WAR is a failure, EA admitted that even (which is rare for them). EA is also probably one of the most money-minded, business-like game publishers in the business, with their loyalty to their shareholders, not the customers.. because frankly, we buy their crap anyway, or so they believe.
WAR isnt worth developing with high cost, and the Mythic Team right now is probably pretty costly. So, why trying to staunch the bleeding of a lost cause, a damaged name and reputation and a shitload of work-to-be-done when you can make better use of that same money, to try and work on your next chance to strike gold?
Mind you, I fully believe EA will run out of patience and push SW:ToR out before its even remotely ready, repeating the WAR disaster, content cuts etc., but thats their current perspective: WAR doesnt make much money, its thus not worth putting money into.
Its not unlikely that LotD was the last big content patch we have seen for WAR. After all, the hype machine has gone quiet, too.
Which brings me to your second issue, what happens with your money. You pay money to play the game, alright. Nowhere does it say that money has to go into further development. Companies only invest money into further development if they see a gain, financially, for it. Otherwise, that money goes where it generates more money, which isnt a failing, crappy underperforming MMO 9 Months old, and quite small.
How do you think Blizzard is paying for StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3? Do you REALLY think Millions of Subs worldwide only allow for one content patch every 4-5 Months, just in time for the release of a competitor or when the screaming becomes deafening? Nope, WoW players finance StarCraft and Diablo, LotR players finance Turbines new console game, and WAR players finance SW:ToR. That is how the business works today.
I havent played WAR..ive been intrigued and tempted to..but havent so far because maybe i havent just gotten around to it yet..took me years to try WOW..i dont play that anymore..took me years after it started to play SWG...same with LOTRO..and dungeons and dragons...so i guess i havent gotten a jaded or biased view of Mythic...im just going to wait and see what..SWTOR is like when it comes out..the proof is in the pudding they say and i have been a longtime believer of that..someone could have a bad reputation..but suddenly turn around and do a great job....you just never know. wait and see is what i would say
Ah yes, they could be taking folks off of UO, or DAoC..
Though, if I were looking for help I would ask it from the more experienced, I would think the War folks were (and this is very debatable :P) the "better team".
You bring up a good point though.
This is from a recent interview:
"BioWare has told Eurogamer that Mythic Entertainment will "without a doubt" help out on Star Wars: The Old Republic, as there are "absolutely opportunities to share and learn" within the newly formed RPG/MMO group.
As for BioWare helping Warhammer Online, however, co-founder Greg Zeschuk is not so sure."
Certainly seems they're there to help with SW:TOR rather than the other way around.
I recently resubbed to War and first thing i noticed was "low" population on most of the servers. I rolled on Dark Crag as its one of the higherpop servers and have been doing quests and enjoying it . There isnt a long wait for scenarios either and talk of more server mergers ive seen on the boards. I hope they do continue to poish this game as i do like it.
I guess this is the point of my post.. It's almost like you can see a white flag out there in the distance with War.. At least from the direction of the new regime..
I am not saying its going to get shut down, just losing some resources it desperatly needs...
/shrug
Apparently Mythic is.......... i should've read more of the thread. Well, it's nothing i want to read about or hear about.. they need everyone to fix all the mistakes.. as fast as possible. Since Aion, is right around the fricken corner.
