I'm most likely going to play, I find the universe, the idea of voiced dialogue and a storyline interesting. This could be a very good game, but I have catious optomism, instead of saying "Yeah this is gonna be a wow killer and change the industry!" I think it might set a new standard of quallity of story telling and gameplay, but thats about it.
Updates be damned. MMO's are the only gaming genre that gets nitpicked to death by people before they are released. Bioware does not make bad games. MMO or not, this is a Bioware game. Nuff said.
As a long time Bioware supporter I have to disagree. The PC port of Mass Effect is an absolute mess. Bioware really dropped the ball on the PC version. Back to the subject at hand, Hell yes I am going to play this!

Well said, indeed...Well said
Bioware's previous games speak for themslves, it wont be for everybody. but an excellent game it will be without a doubt.
Absolutely. As a huge fan of Star Wars in general, I'm looking forward to it for that reason alone. I like what I've seen so far, even though I'm not that impressed with the stylized graphics. But I think I can probably live with it.
While I am less excited about it than I was a month or so ago, I will still check it out. I am not all that concerned with the graphics, as long as the game play is decent. Also, end game content will be a big deciding factor on how long I play it. Open PvP is another factor, if it's not in there I won't be there long after first max level char.
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.
In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.
I'll be playing it, will most likely be taking a break from mmo's till this comes out though, since there is nothing good out there atm that interests me.

I too am a huge Star Wars fan and I will definately be playing this game.
I must have played through KOTOR at least 40 times since it was released in 2003. The story for KOTOR was far superior to any of the Star Wars prequels by a LARGE margin and that is the main reason that I am excited about SW:TOR.
BioWare make great story-based games. I have played and enjoyed them all (in fact I'm currently playing through Mass Effect again for about the 12th time). Even if SW:TOR is as single-player focused as some of the trolls on this forum seem to think, it will still keep me entertained for a very long time as I will be playing each class through 3 times each, once taking the good guy route, once bad guy route and once middle of the road. I want to experience every possible branch in the storyline. 8 classes, 3 routes each, equals 24 playthroughs and thats before you add on the normal MMORPG content (endgame raiding, PvP etc..) that BioWare say they have in the game as well as strong story-based elements.
P.S. 24 Playthroughs? Yes I do have OCD.!
MMORPG History: Playing - EVE Online. Played (Retired) - AO, SWG, MxO, WoW, RFO, SoR, CoX, EQ2, GW, L2, Vanguard, LotRO, AoC, TCoS, Aion. Favourite MMO - Pre-CU SWG, 3 Years, 4 Accounts, 2 Pre-CU Jedi (1 Pre-9). Awaiting - Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Secret World, Earthrise.
I will definately be playing. Just when I think I cannot be more excited by the prospect of playing this game BioWare releases another morsel and proves me wrong. I love all of BioWare's work to date in the RPG genre and I think they will bring new meaning to the RPG in MMORPG.
I know I'm going to get bashed for this, but I'm going to say it anyway. SW:TOR has completely disappointed me. I had every intention of playing it, until this most recent release of gameplay. The combat system is just not for me. It's like a cross between KOTOR and WoW. I just can't do it. It just isn't for me.
As far as I have seen, it's gonna be a "Massive Multiplayer, Single-player Game", with amazing story lines. I don't want this, so unless all my friends start playing it's a NO.
Personally im not so impress with this game base on current information. Though i love star wars, but i need more... erm.... how do i put it.... just need more umph! from it, something that really makes them stand out from other mmo in the market.
Sorry, but npc cut scenes/dialogue is not enough for me... In fact if every npc does that i will find quite old, and a bit waste of time.

Exacly why i am excited about the game. I guess each player has a different preference.

Me too. If it's like WOW then that means it will be one of the most stable/crash free games on the market with millions of people playing it.If it's like KOTOR then it will win game of the year. Sounds like a pretty good combination to me;)
Being BioWare was a nice addition that helps sell the game in itself, but I would play it if it was done by SOE (......most probably) just because its something I've never seen before in an MMO. Knowing that it IS BioWare and that its based on an amazing series... it just doesn't get much better then that to me.
I'm undecided. I love Bioware's stories, but I don't think story alone is enough to hold me to the game, and story was the only thing KotOR had going for it as I thought the game play was pretty bad. So I will wait to decide based on more game play footage.
Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike Loved: Star Wars Galaxies Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

Speak for yourself. PC port of ME was perfect for me.
I will definetly buy it, it's a Bioware game. It will definetly be worth the intial $50.
Whether or not I stay after the free month depends on whether or not I think it's worth it. It probably will be for a few months at least, no form of entertainment is cheaper than $15 a month for hours of enjoyment.
I worry about the end game, but we will see. I'm 99.9% positive I will enjoy myself to max level though.

From the little I have seen, I can't really say I dislike it so far. So, I guess, yes?
If anything I will be leveling one bad and one good character to cap to see the story.
I will treat TOR as if it's Kotor 3 ( i played both sides in the rpgs) after that I will unsub and wait for more content.
Playing: WoW, EvE
Interested in: TOR, ER, GW2, WoD, Dust514
Meh, they should have patched things up with atari and made baldurs gate online instead.
I will try it, not based on any info, but because my friends really want to check it out.

Not at the moment.
It seems to me just another Theme-Park attraction (however well-made; Bioware are a professional bunch).
Best way to change things in the market's and developers' brains is beginning to just say: "No more".
