MMO free for a while now. The genere has lost its luster for me. But i am enjoying the Bethesda games.

    Fallout and Elder scrolls series.

At the moment, nothing online.  Have been playing around with Kotor for about the hundreth time..heh.

I'm looking for some new MMO vs returning to an old favorite.   Just for something to do in my spare time.

I play SWG, EQ2, CoH, LotRO and generally try other mmos when they come out - so I will try STO and SWTOR when they get released.   The first 4 are listed in order of how often I log into them from most to the least.   They are the ones I have enjoyed the most.

OH yeah .. I do have a sub for Fallen Earth too - that is also very interesting and play it when both my husband and I can play computer games together.

I'm playing Fallen Earth at the moment.  It's not precu SWG but it's keeping me entertained at the moment.  After the NGE though I've been all over the place playing various mmos.  I would be interested in playing the 'you know what' once they have a live server going.  Hopefully it's finished soon...

    SWG

    Sometimes EvE and WoW

  • LaterisLateris Member UncommonPosts: 1,847

I have been really into EvE Online for PvE in a crafting sense. I am going to give Dragon Age a try. I have also fired up Sins of a Solar Empire and play UT III when I feel like I need a FPS.  I did log into SWG last week and installed a DX 10 mod that does what SOE doesn't want to touch. The UI with the silver skin still looks terrible. The rest of the UI looks good. The crafting still is good. But I just wasn't into it. I gave all my stuff away to my old friends and old guild in SWG. Then took my house down. I don't feel a single ounce of regret. That poor game could have been so much more.

     SWG and sometimes EVE.

SWG is better then it ever was. Check my other posts as I am not spamming details of my reasons again.

If you Pre-cu vets actually give SWG a honest try with a open mind, you would find this is still the best sandbox out. I am a recovered hater from 2005 to 2008. Yes I left because of NGE. It's much different now.

I've tried to play it on some of the recent vet trials, but I just can't get back into it.  Most of the people I knew are just not playing it anymore.    To me the game is boring.   None of the stuff they have added has gotten my interested in playing the game again.

You can do everything you could back then sandbox wise. Not sure what is boring now compaired to pre-cu. I really don't miss anything. I find nothing lacking from the early days. So decay is gone, crafters make the best of everything and have plenty business. Custom crafting is still the best out of any mmo.

Many people moved servers over the years. My guild on Gorath are about 70% pre cu vets (Iron-Circle), some of the guild has moved to Starsider (where it's more populated then servers pre cu).

Good servers with solid populations are Starsider (almost overpopulated imo), Bria, Bloodfin, Flurry, and euro Chimera all solid populations.

Other servers are quieter, but this should be addressed after years end. They stated being too focused on the Galactic War overhaul.

Guilds make the game better (true with any MMO I played). There is tons of open world pvp, and group pve.

No other MMO I tried has all the elements SWG has. I never found a replacement for SWG when I left because of NGE.

I tried from 2005 to 2008 when I returned to SWG from a vet trial. I was happy to enjoy my SWG again.

P.S. any vet deciding they never want to come back on Gorath feel free to send Evile your stuff ;)

    Yay for Ozzie Clause!

Server hardware and engine upgrades would be nice! Instead these devs waist time on Ewok love wings and card games.

They wonder why we have population issues.....

Lol. Owned. And as to the yellowed part, state that lie on the O-Boards and see how well that goes. The only place people PvP in is Restuss and that is NOT open world PvP.

Dude...really? There isn't one thing you stated that I believe to be even partially true...other than your guild.

Good servers? Aside from Starsider, not one of those has even the same population it did pre FCTS. That's not exactly "solid". Where do you get the idea that SoE is going to address it after the new year? They have NOT said that. The most they have done is acknowledge that populations are an issue, but Adept said they have "NO PLANS" to do anything.

Tons of open world PvP? Again, no truth to that even remotely There is "Restuss". When's the last time you got attacked as you loaded into a PLAYER city? Ever? World PvP does not exist, nor will it after the GCW Update.

Tons of group PvE huh? And...you have no issue finding groups for the Heroics? You're on Gorath...one of the deadest of dead servers. Are you really claiming you have no problem?

Listen mate...pretend the game is fine all you like, play it all you like, open new accounts all you like...but don't come here and lie about the state of it. I really don't care that you play, but with the economy in the state it is and people looking for the best bang for their buck these days, stating what you have is wrong. Tell people how much YOU love the game!!! But when you resort to lying and  misleading people, that is when you cross the line.

What I find boring about the game is that is more linear then it sandbox.  If I wanted to be lead by the hand I will play any game that is not an MMO.  The whole trading card game is another feature that I don't think is needed.  They should have spent the time and money on fixing the game instead of adding that.

I seriously dont think any real Devs work on the game anymore, sure they go in and add in the seasonal junk like life day, its all finished with development that is not TCG.    Those Devs you see posting in the forums from time to time spend maybe a day out of the week on the game, the rest of thier job duties are working on new SOE titles.

They will never fix or add anything new to SWG unless its TCG.  Real development ended for this game in 2006.

Ummm, back to the OP. I just picked up Battlefield 2 for $7 and change on the Steam holiday sale! I've been looking for the complete BF2 pack for a while now but couldn't justify the $30 they've been asking. Woohoo! Some really good deals to be had!

I picked up Battlefiled 2 a while back.  Its not as good as the orginal Battlefield.   Watchout for the radom cone of fire.  The most acurate gun in the game is the pistol.

Right now I'm not playing anything atm PC is in the shop waiting for the new motherboard :( but when I get it back , I'll be trying out Wurm Online, and going back to EVE and Darkfall to try out the new expansion, waiting on Dawntide, wanting to get into open beta for Star Trek Online before I pre-order the game it smells like a scam.
