Group pve is fun ? What game is he playing? Last a checked you get 3 friends and one dude holds the block button and the rest surround the mob and spam attacks.
he was wrong about the war'dec timer... it's 18-24 hours
also wrong about the ambient sound... it only affects the music track, not actual game sounds.
