So Blizzard have sent me 3 (THREE!) E-mails informing me that I can join the Cats Alpha testing. Of course I need an active account upto and including WotLK installed. Sounds good but make sure you read the WHOLE e-mail. At the bottom they state that to be eligable your account has to have been in good standing (ie active) as of march 1st 2009.
All three of my accounts were canceled two years ago. Blizzard has this information so I have to wonder how many other people with old inactive (prior to march 1st 2009) accounts are being sent these e-mails. Is it a mistake or is blizzard being a little shadey here hoping to catch some people out to reactivate only to find out about the march 1st stipulation later?
Of course its there in the e-mail ... but I am forces to wonder how many people would be "caught out" by this.
Anyhow, just a heads up, if you happen to receive this "Alpha-invitation" be aware that resubbing now wont help you, your account has to have been active since march 1st !!
Interested to hear how many other people with inactive accounts are also getting this e-mail Vs people who do actually "qualify" for the test.
No I dont hate WoW and although its somewhat suspect to me and would only catch out the people who did'ent read the whole e-mail they are not promising anything unless you meet the requirements. Just curious as to who these e-mails are being directed at. Personally I am done with WoW, had fun while I played but its old to me now although I harbour no ill will towards the game, was fun while it lasted but I've moved on. Which is why I am curious as to why Blizzard is sending this "invite" to someone who has'ent subbed to thier game in 2 years !!

I've heard these e-mails are actually scams/phony/phishing.
Be careful, very careful.

It's a scam
Its possible. I never bothered to click on the links.
I still get alot of "Your account is under investigation" e-mails too. Amuses me since I've not had an account for 2 years. I keep a choice number of "Ancestor" insults to e-mail back to them each time. Keeps me entertained !!
