Going to buy the game tonight.  Anyone who is experienced want to give their opinion on which bonus mount/vehicle I want?

I hear gas is expensive. You could get the ATV and save it for later. Or get a horse and have a good mount forever with inexpensive upkeep.

Horse. A tad slower, but more space.

I have both and I far prefer the horse.  Less money to keep fueled up and I personally find the horse a little more nimble in its movements.

    How can you get both?

You can have up to 5 mounts if I'm not mistaken ;)

    You make'em :)

Buy the game from fallenearth.com. I can make you a horse if you want both, free of charge. Ingame Ophelia Payne, shoot me a mail :)

You can craft pretty much anything in game, including a bridle for a horse or building the ATV yourself. You can have up to 5 vehicles in total.

When it comes to choosing between atv or horse I always say to folks just toss a coin. Getting a horse isn't hard and folks are more then willing to show you or tell you how.

Sooner or later you'll want to make a atv since you have to learn to make one to learn how to make a motorcycle and later dunebuggies and cars.

I would suggest going for the ATV bonus because you can get a horse very easily early on in the game (from a vendor or crafting) whereas ATV's are more diffiucult to get (must be crafted + takes a longer time to craft).  I got the D2D horse bonus and I'm kind of regretting it.

Yes get the free ATV, a horse is much cheaper in upkeep but its also very easy to gain in game, while an ATV of the quality of the free one is very very very hard to get.

It is a Gas guzzler at 50 fuel efficiency though. (Only slightly better than the standard dune buggy) and fuel costs a lot for a new char. I activated my code and used it untill I almost ran out, then switched to horses.

In hindsight I would have rather not used up the key to spawn it but use it in researching vehicles instead.

    Check vehicle stats here: www.globaltechatlas.info/2009/09/guide-to-vehicles.html

Right now I am researching improved ctrl system and engine, and then frame too. Need 2 more tyres to research improved tyres. And THEN I can make my first Cargo ATV.... can't wait... a crafter's dream :D

My ultimate goal (and next mount) is an Interceptor. I can only wish that in the future they introduce the option to make a DeLorean :D

And the super-ultimate goal is to have an own truck :DD

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.

I'd love the interceptor too, and maybe some more cars. Some ideas..

American Motors SUV500 - adds -20 intelligence and fuel efficiency is 1 out of 500. Built only from scrap parts.

Rising Sun Speedster - adds -80 charisma and and takes a good 1/3 of the map to get to top speed.

Krautwagon SLRTGT5.3ihv - everything will aggro you instantly and it will cost you 15 gold chips to buy

Le Bagle - the best looking car in game. Would break down every 250 meters and crafting halt for extended period of times quite often.
