I have more fun with the leveling then the end usually.. personally i feel lotro has a great leveling experince.. nice and slow...
Fallen earth is all about it too, since there is no endgame but pvp ..
Um.. errr.. yeah i don't know they all seem to funnel u toward it as quick as possible.

I love leveling because I gain new abilities which I then learn to use and combine with others I already had.
The more distinct classes and starting areas an MMO has, the more I like it. I hit the 50-character limit in WoW, and had more than 70 alts in Warhammer.
When my WoW main hit level cap, it felt like the end of fun for the most part. I have never been one for gear grinds, and that is all there is in WoW's end game.

I agree with you about Fallen Earth. I enjoy leveling in that game, doesnt feel grindy to me. Loved EVE as well for that. I didn't like LOTRO's pvp so I enjoyed it, but didn't get to the love it stage.
I enjoy leveling, the ride is usually more fun then the end game. That said, it s how you make it. If you feel gear grind is all there is to do in WOWs end game , well then thats what it will be. I, however, play with some friends and my wife and we just take each day as it comes. PvP a bit, do some Heroics, Wintergrasp, Arena, Old content for achievments, the list goes on. We all could care less what others feel about us, gear wise, so in turn it doesn t feel like a gear grind. We have many times gone into arenas as a 5 man team and destroyed many better geared teams because we know how to play our chars. This is the result of many people getting pl ed to end , just to grind that gear, and never learned anything but a couple buttons to push. To sum it up it s how you play the game that determines wether it s grind or not.
I have to agree with you both. I really am enjoying Fallen Earth and its somewhat laid back style of leveling. I love the leveling process in games, which is why I've only hit level cap once in WoW because I'd just keep rerolling to keep leveling. When I finally got my character to 80 I just wasn't a huge fan of the end-game.
Fallen Earth has that exploration element that a lot of games are lacking, so I really appreciate the game more and more every time I play.
LotRO, and I know this has been said a lot, felt very linear to me. It didn't have that "re-play-ability" that a lot of MMO's have, because there were never alternate methods to doing things.
This was meant to be in reply to the "Are there any active MMO's left that..." i don't know how i started a new thread.. oops!
i think a lot of players miss out in their rush to reach endgame, i had the most fun in wow before i reached 80

Amen! Agree with all of the above. You're paying 15$ a month (most games), smell the roses for crying out loud!
I'm a bit of a lore-whore, that said, I enjoy actually running the instances the way I was supposed to, rather than being run through by a high level friend, usually.
However, I want to kill Arthas in the coming 3.3 patch for WoW, so I currently need to get my 34 warrior to 80 quick. Instance runs have been had - but I still remember the lore behind most things in there... looking forward to killing that anti-christ Arthas, though.
I am playing EVE and it's alright... level V skills are a bit much.
You all need to learn to spell.
But is it really fun? Is the content compelling? Does it challenge you? Does it feel like they put some thought into it? or is it horribly generic? If you said no to the first 4 questions, then you're playing a business model rather than entertainment. The reason it's slow is so they can make more money.
I hate run-throughs so much.
When I started playing WoW, a friend helped me do a few quests in Durotar. Well he was a much higher level (40-something I believe), and I felt completely useless. I might as well not have been there at all. Ever since then, I refuse hand-outs and run-throughs. Where's the heroism when there is no challenge at all?

Will you feel special knowing that you and a couple million other players have also killed Arthas?
