Member ranking

I am on this site every day reading the forums and checking on games. Why then, does my member status continually go down? In just 2 days it has gone down 3 points. This is not a complaint, I am just curious how the ranking actually works. MMORPG.com is a great site! ::::01::

    HI!

You are ranked depending on the a couple of factors:

    1. The posts you make (not just to view)
    2. The quality of the posts you make (posting just to spam will hurt your ranking)
    3. Any deletion of a post will cost 5 points.
    4. Not posting in a certain amount of time will diminish your score (not posting in 30 days I believe)

Ranks are calculated every day at 2:00AM EST. They are only based on the last 30 days of data. We look at the following factors when determining your rank:

    * How many days you visited the site (and logged in). This is also counted when you use our "autologin" feature.
    * How much information you have posted in our forums (not the amount of posts)
    * The quality of your posts. If you post lot of "filler" posts that only consist of a few words this will cost you rank points.
    * Any posts of yours that had to be deleted will cost you 5 rank points (there are only 100 total). To prevent your posts from being deleted, please obey our Rules of Conduct.

I lost about 30 points this month. The trouble is when they delete post not only do they not have to give a reason, they can delete them with no accountability, as in their system they do not know which mod actually delets a post. So, if a post happens to rub a mod the wrong way or the information is contrary to their belief they can delete them at will and punish the user.

    a post is deleted if:

    1. That said post was expressed soley to flame a specific individual
    2. Heavy language was involved
    3. Language to exemplify or be used as a metaphor to flame or troll a specific individual (individual meaning a member of our forums
    4. Posting the same topic in all 43 Game room discussion forums to get one's point across
    5. Posting images of pornographic or graphic violent nature
    6. The request for a beta key or the request to trade beta keys
    7. Using the boards to advertise your website
    8. Providing a link that directs itself to a website to contains pornography, spyware, viruses, etc
    9. A user quoted a poster in where that poster had his original post deleted. In that case, many mmorpg staff will notify that person that if they removed the offended quote, their post will be unlocked.
    10. Threatening someone and or harassement (which relates to number 1)

A post will be moved if:

    1. It had no purpose in a said room (example: posting EQ2 rocks in a WoW forum or posting about Michael Jackson's latest court case in the General Discussion --> mmorpg section)
    2. It would benefit a specific group more (example: you had a question about how to install FFXI: you would get more accurate responses in a FFXI room)
    3. SPAM. This gets moved to the spam discussion forums.

As we speak there is a Staff member who is creating an official Forum rule sticky. I just threw down some examples.
