LFGame - Needs PVP - Cannot find ANYTHING

LizardEgyptLizardEgypt Member UncommonPosts: 333

I've been playing MMO's with a specific group of friends for several years. We're stuck in a zone where we can't find any game to play, and don't know any games coming out that we'd like. So I'm asking for some help !

THE GAME DOES NOT HAVE TO BE F2P.

First of all, we LOVED Pre-BC World of Warcraft. Absolutely loved it, burning crusade IMO ruined the aspects that I really liked so we all stopped playing and have no intentions of ever coming back.

We recently went and played DAOC again but, my friend found the controls and interface too awkward for him to enjoy so... I guess we can't go back to that...

Good controls are extremely important, clean WASD... I think the most important thing is that the game has to feel smooth and play comfortable so that playing the game comes before fumbling with controls.

We also love PVP and small-group content, I think PVP is the thing that keeps us playing after the first month usually.

But we also love Instances, Dungeons, All that good stuff.

I know you guys hear a thousand of these posts a day but we really need a new home because there are only so many RTS games you can play in one day.

  Games Played:

-World of Warcraft

-Warhammer

-Darkfall

-Dark Age of Camelot

-EVE Online

-SWG

-Age of Conan

-Countless F2P WoW Clones..

Currently playing - FF14ARR
Previous games - SWG, World of Warcraft, ShadowBane, Warhammer, Age of Conan, Darkfall, Planetside Asheron's Call, Everquest, Everquest 2, Too many.

Darkfall would be your game if you want a total pvp centric game but seems like you want dungeons and instance so WAR might be a good choice or even EVE.

Well I've been recently subscribed to EVE actually, but the pacing kills it for my other friends and I moslty enjoy playing with them.

I also played Darkfall at launch on the EU servers before they came to US. I loved the game but I'm not so sure the others would sadly.

Face of Mankind is totally PvP centric.

RealmLords boasts RvR. Aika does too.

Let's see... If I were you I'd probably look at DarkfallOnline or EVEOnline if you're considering paying for a game. If you're looking for a free to play game I suggest playing AtlanticaOnline, Mabinogi, Maplestory, Perfect World International, Dungeons and Dragons Online, or any of the other more well known games.

My guess would be AION once they add some... less chaotic PvP. With less ganking. But it plays much like wow with it's instances and the abyss is litteraly filled with PvP, though the quality of such PvP can vary much from day to day.

I was in the AION Beta and something about the casting made me stop playing at like level 7. It involved something about the cleric class that I was not being able to move for a few seconds after the spell had finished casting, and it was driving me insane. If anyone can confirm that I am just an idiot then maybe I could reconsider the game... but...

To be honest I don't think you'll like Aion at all. It's an OKAY game but there's a lot wrong with it. I'd wait till you're out of choices to play Aion.

I don't recall not being able to move after casting, most likely a bug or maybe it was just the lagg issues they were having back then.

If you read my post, I actualy addressed these issues with no real PvP and said he should wait for that. It's not like it's the worst game ever made and there's not really any quality mmo that really overshadows the other ones at the moment.

I'd almost be desperate enough to play Aion but I also disliked the graphic style and character design... but who knows. :P

Ya ifn ya ain't tried AION yet might want to give it a whirl Wife and I have been playing off and on since release and are having a lot of fun. The game has potential Wife is loving it I still go from Aion to Fallen Earth every other month I like em both a whole lot . Fallen Earth Is unlike any MMO i have played but it is not a game she can relate to. Me being the geek I am Fallen Earth is hard to stay away from havent seen a game with this much potential in a long time. Devs are sending major patches down the pipes on a regular basis ... also something I haven't seen ion a long time as well. Aion just implemented thier Xmas patch ... I was mind blowed as I was Beggining to wonder if Aion even knew how to implement a patch as I think this was the first one I have seen sicne AIon released. Leading me to believe the Aion Vision Trailer is a load of crap in a feeble attempt to stop people from quitting,,,,still a pretty good game though with a thriving economy something Fallen Earth is lacking....

Then try Atlantica Online. AO is a strategic turn-based mmorpg. It has lots of PVP in the so called Free League. In AO, level is almost not that important in PVP, it's all about the strategy.

Regarding the instances and dungeons, AO has lots of them ranging from Individual Dungeons, Squad Dungeons, Guild Dungeons to Nation Dungeons.

Try it and see for yourself.
