This sounds an awfully lot like "The Agency," which you know good and well, SoE will screw up.

I hope Blizzard, or some game company/developer, DOES make an MMOFPS.

I think the market is there and, frankly, I would rather that some players, the kind that complain about things like leveling in an MMORPG, or that you have to earn gear, or that some other person's gear is better than theirs and that negates skill so shouldn't be allowed, would be far happier in that kind of game and less like to influence the kind of game I like to play in a negative manner (negative for my play style, that is).

    ;)

Have played: Everquest, Asheron's Call, Horizons, Everquest2, World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, Warhammer, Age of Conan, Darkfall

Going by how much they've dumbed down WoW's already easy and accessible gameplay, I would'nt be that surprised.
Looking at history, nobody stays on top forever.

But doesnt the WoW haters always asking for something Diffrent. Well Blizzard is doing that

so a sims type part for rampant cyber and a fps side to go blow them away when you find out that "hot chick" is a 350 lb trucker named Rick? :P

Hopefully it will not attract the majority of the WoW community, cause we all know those pussies can't shoot, but then again if somehow they can grind bosses for big shiney guns then they will come over. :(

    "True Lies" Online LOL

FPS with a Sims aspect, dum-de-dum-dum, Dumb! Who plays the Sims any more?? Boring...

What ever happened to "Ghost", based on the starcraft characters. It was a damn shame when that project got canned. This might just be a rehash of those rumours. But adding a sims aspect?... please... :P

  • If they do make one... Not saying it would be my favorite thing but I would still buy it and play it

I mean blizzard hasn't failed with any of their games so far... why now. or in 4 years lol

Amazingly, it seems many "Hardcore PvP" players are CRYING because in most FPs's, gear/numbers/percents /uber drops does not matter.

This is going to be great. Perhaps this will be the first Blizzard MMO where time played does not = Wins at PvP.

I think a lot of people are going to find themselves lost at first, but we all adapt (eventually). However it's going to be hilarious in the beginning. Your last sentence is bloody brilliant!

To be honest, they should give up their EASY mode strategy for designing MMORPG's ,it is cheap gaming and VERY boring to play.

I would be interested to see what they could do with a FPS type game,i have little confidence in their ability to think, but hey you never know until you try. They have nothing to copy unless they utilize their recent purchase of the REDNECK Rampage Ip.Do i think Blizzard has the ability to create a FPS from scratch?Man that i got to see,and no i do not think they can pull it off in  any form other than CHEAP 101.

I might add, that i am 100% positive that Blizzard is intelligent enough to understand that ANY game they make that competes against the WOW fan base, could not only slowly destroy WOW but the new game as well,so i see no common sense in making another MMORPG.

SO far ,although i do not agree with anything Blizzard does,EVERYTHING they do DOES make sense,i can see where they are going and why,so i highly doubt another RPG.I have also mentioned this a LONG time ago, they purchased Redneck Rampage for a reason and so far we have seen nothing come of it,so i still stick by that theory.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

He's French Canadian. Leave my Countymen alone. You should hear most anglophones try and speak French in this Country.

technically, since quebec is not an official part of Canada, just a thorn in it's side, if you're going to say your Canadian at all, speak the official language or officially join the damned country finally :P

They've had two Referendums, and both voted to stay. Screw the anti-Canadian minority :) Btw how's the weather in Sudbury? Just spent last year living in North Bay, so I can imagine.

EDIT: woops, I'll stop my derailing as of now. Sorry Mods.

Actually, the Official languages in Canada are both English AND French ;)

As for this MMOFPS game, it's not hard to see why they'd make it and they already said they wouldn't do a Starcraft MMO.

um, this is the dumbest thing ive ever seen.

Quebec is part of Canada, officially.  you are prolly the type of fool who thinks we all bow down to the queen too :)

firstly, not until the province signs the constitution and it's refused to since the founding of the country.  Your own provincial political party of terrorism, sorry I mean the bloc, tries to seperate on a weekly  basis over that.

secondly, yes it was a joke originally.

I'd love them to make an MMOFPS. But the idea of a 'Sims Online with FPS component' certainly doesn't sound like much fun...

We'll see how it goes, I guess.

  • sfc1971sfc1971 Member UncommonPosts: 421

I suppose everything is possible but Blizzard has zero experience with FPS. Of course, it also had zero experience with MMO's before WoW but at least that was based on an existing license. It would be interesting to see if Blizzard produces a completely new product.

A FPS MMO would be a welcome break from all the rest and IF Blizzard is doing another MMO they would be foolish to make SOE's mistake (launching a title that competes directly with its existing product (EQ2)).

But a blizzard FPS... that will take some getting used to.

Quebec, and its arrangment with the rest of Canada was part of the foundation of the Country.  that's like say native reserves arent part of the country.  They are, just a DIFFERENT part, with a history outside of the standard.  things dont have to come in boxes to ACTUALLY exist. maybe in the house you grew up in, they did.

The bloc is not a terrorist group. you may as well accuse the bloc of slavery or being aliens...perhaps you are thinking of the FLQ? but that was a group back in the 60's-70's, and though they did in fact speak french, they were not a provincial party of Canada.

Be funny if they launched it right at the time Planetside 2 launches and it kills off another SOE game like EQ2 lol.

Hijacking a thread is just inexcusable.  If you can't talk about the topic on hand then don't post.
