Level 74 Returning Player with a Question

dpf1978dpf1978 Member UncommonPosts: 71

So, if I come back today, what are the chances I'll be able to hit level 80 before the expansion hits on the 16th?  I'd be playing solo, most likely, and I've already got most of the collection items.

Just quest nonstop....you'll be able to knock those levels out in a few days....may or may not make it, depending on how much you play each day....if not, you'll be very very close

Well there are a lot of variables that can go in the question. You have most of the collection items and stopped leveling at 74 the last time you played? That's pretty impressive. There are lots of collections. Good luck. Kunark has lots of quests to get you to 80. Then you don't even have to play SF since you can go level in Moors. Beats the crowds.

Are you thinking that I could level up past 74 in Shadow Odyssey or is it a better idea to stick with Kunark to 80?

RoK areas have plenty of quests to level you to 80.....Kylong, Chardok, Fens, Jarsath Wastes...etc...plus all the single party group instances to get gear.

very easy.  i went from 70-80 in about 12 hours on just solo RoK quests.  Don't get stuck doing stupidly long quests.  if you run out of easy quests in one hub, go over to next hub.

very easy now.  if you get bored of one zone, go to next.  you have Fens, Junge, Jarsath and Moors.

Take a look at the solo timeline on eq2.wikia.com if you need infoz.

12 hours?  to go those 10 levels? i mean i know they aren't hell levels or anything but 12 hours? thats got to be an exaggeration.

Actually, its really easy now, they lessened the grind at those levels a ton.

I recently came back on my 68 Swashy, and it took me roughly 18 hours or so to get from 68 to 80. So I suspect that the quoted users estimation is fairly accurate.

Well, I'm over halfway to 77 now, so it's going pretty well. Unfortunately, I just found out that I have to go out of town this weekend. Doesn't look like I'll make it to 80 in time. But probably shortly after the 16th. Unless i can get 3.5 levels tomorrow and Monday.

12 hours was not an exaggeration.  and this was without any support whatsover, just solo quests.

The key is not to get stuck doing the really long difficult quests.  Do all the easy ones in an area, more to next area.  After KP, i did stuff at Sathir's Span and Bethezid's (sp?) Watch in Fens, then a few for Drogan Outcasts, then went to jungle.  I did all the stuff around city of Jinisk, then left there and started out on the hammer questline in Jarsath, in Jarsath i did all the quests in the first Di'Zok camp, about 5-6 from the scorps and another few from Danak / Battlement.  By that time i hit 80.    Also, i stopped by Moors to do about 5-6 of the easier quests on the baloon ship dock at some point, plus the bootstrutter quest for the runspeed buff, but that takes a long while if you don't know what you're doing.

Personally I like the Kunzar Jungle quests the Jarsath ones are fun too. Kylong plains should be outlawed  and declared a no go zone.

I'm halfway to 78 and still in Fens!  I think I'm going to go to Kunzar on Monday (Out of town until then) and hit those quests while the 30% XP bonus is still in effect.  Hopefully that will get me to 80 before the servers go down.  I'm having a hell of a good time, I'll say that.  It's been a LOT of fun.
