Seriously Farmville? Yeah I think it's great. In a World where half our population is dying of hunger the more fortunate half is spending their time harvesting food that doesn't exist.
While your comment does point out a disgusting fact about our society it doesn't change the other poster's point about the direction of game play.
Really, the fact that people in our society (myself included) spend so many of our "productive hours" on digital games that produce absolutely nothing while the world goes to hell in a hand basket (whether we are harvesting digital food, the irony of which is particularly telling, or destroying digital monsters/people) is a shame.
What I find rather amusing is that we get mad at people who don't entertain us well enough, when most of the world has trouble finding food to live.

You have to understand something. We are productive because we are rewarded for being so. And because we are productive, we can also give to those in need and make the world better than it was.
Take away the rewards, and you lose the productivity, and thus also the giving. It's a hard world out there, we make it better. We don't need to feel guilty for being rewarded for our production and success. It helps drive us on to more reward, and more giving.
