Unfortunately, I agree with Marvel. I've seen so many comic ripoffs running around in CoH and they never get banned ( lvl 42 Tank named Hulk2004 or something like that.) He/she must have been running around CoH with that name and build like the Hulk for months, and yet, that character is probably still in CoH....Better yet, I've also seen like two Deathlok toons running around at like 30+. You wonder how they get past level five with a name like Deathlok1737 or Deathlok 2000 and an almost exact character build and not get banned or deleted; not to mention all of the Wolverine toons! Sounds like to me that they aren't following their own rules that they, who made the rules, set forth...

This lawsuit was brought on NCsoft by itself. Marvel is just protecting what they rightfully own. And if I'm not mistaken, isn't NCsoft not making money off of these toons by monthy subscription??? NCsoft needs to stick to their rules before they loose their @$$.

I think it is a sad excuse for marvel to sue Coh....it is almost as bad as Mystic for sueing microsoft for there game which was called mytisca (ms?) Its all about the money and if a company can make some money from sueing another, they are going to do it.  Mystic did it to get rid of some competition..which they did..the game was cancelled.  Im not to up on the comic book industry but im sure it is not doing as good as it was 10yrs ago. ( 2 comic book stores closed down in the pass 10yrs in my area that were there for a good 10yrs.)

Actually the only way it would be the same is if i was making money off of the use of a name.

NCSOFT makes money by letting its players do whatever they want with use of names etc etc.If you make a taxable income off of the use of a licensed character without express permission from the owner and you get caught its grounds for being sued.

If you burn a cd for personal use no problem. If you burn multiple copies and sell then on a corner you.are effectivley stealing from the record company and the artist themselves.

The players do NOT own the rights to said characters. It is that simple. If they did they wouldnt just be playing a video game with them would they now?

Don't envy the judge who's gonna have to sit through that one.

I played CoH for a while. I've got no idea why though. I hate all that sodding super-hero crap.

The whole sueing thing thing is just tragic. Get a grip for the love of god. People who clearly love the stuff are enjoying recreating their favourite super-heros and playing them in a game. What the hell is the problem here.

    Oh ... stupid me!

I forgot, it's not about who enjoys your product anymore it's about how much you can shaft other companies for when the violate your stupid copyright or trademark in even the smallest, insignificant way.

Screw Marvel... They make crappy films filled with action, love, mindlessness and american-ness with no sense of art what so ever.

They make poor movie for $$

They sue game makers because they think they should have copyright over everything related to super-zeros, when they arnt the only publisher of that kind (DC comics...)

Who do you think will keep the $$, Marvel or the creator of the heroes who where "copied" ? Marvel of course... they have the copyright over all the work of their artist...

I never paid for anything done by Marvel, and it wont change.
