I beg to differ. Due to night I was able to get away from a larger group ( 4 at least ), and take these 2 on. They did manage to get away though :
Night time fighting is fun and interesting becuase there's alot more tactics and strategy involved, it's not just "See oppenent, run up, fight". There's alot more too it, bu then again, I guess the video doesn't show all of that? Still, it is fun to fight at night, evens the odds a little at least
Raise your hand if you like to see the action on screen when your fighting. *Raises hand*
*Raises both hands*
Nah inferno night was supposed to be challenging, but due to so many people not being able to play at night they reverted it to some twilight crap.
Look, Im a big sandbox fan. Tell me a game is a sandbox and I will atleast give the trial a go. I dont care if the playable races are pink fuzzy bunnies and purple dinosaurs.
I just find it hard to support these guys because they don't want me to play!!! If they did they would let me see what i was doing! no?!?
Sorry, but what am I to...see in these videos? All I see sometimes is something like a hand swinging around and a few grunts of pain here and there...might be because I haven't had the pleasure to experience a fight at night yet?
Night time is what games have been needing for a long time now. It adds depth to the realism and requires you to think a little more before wandering around alone in the dark. Imagine having to keep ready for an ambush behind any tree at any moment! Imagine lying in wait for someone to wander on by!
Those that will find this to be to difficult for them are those that this IS NOT catering to. Any TRUE PvP'er would see the benefits of this system. Gankers may piss and moan because "They are making it to easy for them to run away!". Man up, get some skill, and learn how to use the system.

So MO caters to people that don't need to see the game they're playing? Gotcha.

Uhm, no. People that like MO complained that this is just too stupid. Read the forums.
It doesn't make it hardcore, and it doesn't make it "realistic". Do you know what getting night vision means in real life?
SV changed it because they found by overwhelming majority, that trying to make it 'super realistic' does not make it fun. That's by their own users who love the way the game plays now. Thinking about the rest of their design people cop to using words like "realism" and "hardcore" when in fact, it's just poorly thought out and not a lot of fun.
But if you enjoy it, I encourage you to tell them to keep it in.

Well there goes my hope for this game.
The whole selling point of this game was "Realistic".
As for "Night Vision" you mean to tell me you can see just fine on a dark night, in the woods, with trees blocking any ambient light (which gives you your "night vision") you can see just fine?
As for not a lot of fin that is your opinion. In mine it would be beyond fun. Then again maybe I am just so tired an burnt out on all the rehashes of the same shit daily that I was hoping for something different.
Back to searching for a decent PvP game with devs that actually keep their word.

Depth of realism where you can't even see to play the game? Think a llitle more because they can't see anything?
So not being able to see anything while you play this game is too difficult? What benefits are in this system, not being able to see anything for 3 hours?

How is that realistic? That is a stupid broken system and people are trying to defend it, thats what bothers me.

Only in real life you can actually see in the dark to a certain extent. This is just pitch black the whole time.

Yes, in low light situations you have the ability to see clearly and distinctly as your eyes will adapt the low light situation and compensate.
Again -- a "realistic" game may be fun for you, and for a few others -- but it's not a game that makes money. And ultimately there has to be a business plan around a game if you want to play it on a long term. If you want realism -- go outside.
Honestly they should just revert back to full day.. and let anyone that enjoys the "challenge" of playing in the dark simply turn their monitor off when they play or turn the gamma all the way down.

This is too dark... the moon should be showing something...

I read on MO site that night time was better now (i.e. slightly more light).
I think they just need to introduce Night Sight spells and potions like they had in UO.
