Don't be shy. How many of you here actually play WoW? I'm just curious to know.
If you don't play WoW, what do you play? and why do you play it over WoW?
If you don't currently play WoW, do the expansions and such ever tempt you to return?

I dont, but used to. I play EVE and Ryzom now. WoW simply out-stayed its welcome and it was time to move on.
If you stand VERY still, and close your eyes, after a minute you can actually FEEL the universe revolving around PvP.
Used to, not anymore. Was a good time while it lasted, just got tired of it. I'm onto LoTRO primarily, dabble with DDO and AoC on ocassion. I've tried going back, it just doesn't entertain me anymore, doubt Cata will add anything to change that, I may try, however.
No i don't play wow anymore, and Torchlight is the only game ive been playing for the past few weeks
WoW is my "fallback" MMO.
If I'm not preoccupied with a new and shiny single player or MMO title, I play WoW.
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift
Torchlight was fun for a bit, typical dungeon crawler with some nice new things (pet running back to vendor) overall not revolutionary but solid fun, nonetheless.
My wife and I recently tried to play WoW again. Was beyond boring even picking up high end with more gold then I realized I ever had. Was not enough to keep me interested. Personally I dont enjoy the simple style of play and completely limited character design. Waiting SW:TOR currently I personally am only playing some single player game atm. MMOs are really starting to loose that thrill...Honestly I am uncertain they had any thrill.
Thanks just my opinion to each his own.

I used to play WoW - A LOT. Too much infact. I quit more times than I can remember but always came back. It took up weeks at a time and I even tried playing in moderation but still kept playing too much. Even with the amount of time that I played I really never got to the top. So I quit for good. Enjoying real life at the moment.
I do not play WoW anymore, though I am sure then the expantion pack comes out I will give it another go.
I played it for a long long time... but not anymore.
I keep telling myself I will not come back for the expansion. I seem to remember doing the same before BC and WOTLK as well though...
I'm still playing WoW with my wife. I go through spurts where I'll play quite a bit to then only logging in for raids. I tend to split my time between WoW, a few FPS games and whatever single player rpg has my attention.
I've tried many other mmorpgs, nothing has really grabbed my attention.
I don't play WoW, and never have really. I play some single player RPGs, and DDO mainly. Quick romp in AoC sometimes.
I play them over wow, because they are more of a challenge, and I feel like I am in control. WoW is as simplistic as an RPG could ever get, and I dislike that. Bores me quickly.I have tried the game of course, for a couple of weeks perhaps. The community has some very loud idiots, that's for sure.
No expansion will ever get my attention back to this.
"WoW is my "fallback" MMO.

Ivalidir said that and I have to say DITTO exactly that.
I'm back in right now, and loving the insta queue for dungeons and pvp.
Thank you,

I played my free month. That was early last year, and never played since.
Playing - EVE, Wurm
Retired - Final Fantasy XI, Anarchy Online, Mabinogi
Waiting - ArcheAge, Salem
AOC isn't anymore complicated than WoW haha to be honest all mmo's right now are about the same with the exception of EVE. Its the only one with any real learning curve.
Right on the money. When I get tired of other MMO's I pop back into WoW and fiddle around with any new features or just pvp and chat with friends. Maybe add a few levels to each of my alts. Tough to really focus on it except during the periods where the release expansions.
Played WoW from Launch, took a few breaks, played again through most of Wrath and quit for good.
Pretty much just got burned out on the game and got really tired of player drama. No matter which server I played on or which guilds I joined, the players killed it for me. Between the gear whining (the whole "Why did player X get item Y?! It should have gone to player Z because it would benefit them more!" or the "I need item X but we never run that raid any more because no one needs it anymore! Waaaahhh!!") as well as the Nazi Raid leader types ("OMFG! We need to beat guild X on clearing this instance! You morons need to pay attention to me screaming over vent like its a matter of life or death!")
As for the game itself I just got bored. No matter how many new raids, dungeons, etc were added it just felt really shallow after a while. Add to that the players who feel the need to attack you with your gearscore and armory stats to disqualify your reasons for feeling the game is tired and dull just makes it worse. Because apparently you cant get bored with a game before doing every last instance/raid or collecting every shiny bobble released to current.
As for what I am playing now, not really subbed to anything atm. I am in a couple of betas as well as playing a few single player games when I have the time. Mostly just enjoying the fact that the snow has melted and its a bit warmer outside. In the meantime I keep an eye on newer games in the pipe such as TSW and FF14.
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Yes, until a game comes out with better fun-focused teamplay and dungeon-running.

I played WoW for 4 years, with a couple 2 or 3 months breaks, within it's 4.5 years in retail.
I haven't touch the game in months, game Many different games.
MMO Wise, I was playing Aion... but my guild wasn't active enough nor had enough people on at the same time to do anything.
I have lifetime sub STO, tho haven't played that since FFXIII hit. I will be playing it this weekend tho, now that I beat the last Boss in FFXIII... but I'm no where close to being finished with that game (Ceith Stone Missions and such)
I'm going back To WoW when Cata hits... maybe just before.
My friend will drag me back if I don't go willing so I've resign myself that it will happen.
tried it for a few weeks and hated everything about it ...
the classes
the races
the graphics
the community
and just being associated with it
Played EQ2 instead then they WoWified it so now im playing fallen earth.
HELL no.
I'll admit, I played for a month, to see what all the hype was about. I found it shallow, and monotonous.
I can appreciate that there are people who enjoy it, but I need "more" in a game.
Not anymore. The community was a huge turn off for me. Of course, part of that was me playing on a PvP server with my husband.
I play LotRO, now. The community, imo, is much better and visuals of the game is nice.
I may come back to try Cata. It seems interesting.
played from release til a little bit after WotLK then quit and never went back....and never will.
Well, at least I don't fall asleep from boredom, when playing my DT, like I do in WoW.
And, no, EVE is not the only more complex game. DDO has the most complex combat. That is roughly what I care about.
I play ddo from time to time EVE is much more involving when it comes to thinking things through. Don't get me wrong I love ddo combat but PVE twitch based gameplay with no pvp isn't for me.
I played until some weeks after 1st expansion. EQ2 was the better choice for my gamingstyle.
