interesting in seeing why people wanna get this game, and why people wouldt.

im gonna start out my self, i am getting the game because i think its a mix of a lot of genre's, u can drive around u can shoot, you got the mmo part in the game, and u can social as well. im a all around gamer really, and this game covers a lot for me, thats why im getting it.

my thoughts :)

It looks different than any other offering in our genre to date.  FPS Controls turn me off a tad, but it doesn't take much for this old quake player to find his bearings again..

Different, new, lots of customization.. I think it's worth my money for at least one months worth of playtime.  Plus it's one of the FEW up and coming games where I told my wife about it and she actually seemed interested based on the games merits, not just the fact that I might be playing it.

I'm getting the game mainly because I don't have a shooter I enjoy right now, addition of cars, the great character creation system, as well as the other small details. Plus i'm not a hardcore gamer I don't like grinds that much only grinds I enjoyed were EQ1 , DAoC, and SWG, I enjoy those mainly because of the group and social aspect  (except swg which I just found to be fun. This game seems like its got that social aspect to it and its not a grind (yes I know its somewhat a grind with weapon upgrades but still I can just log in for 30 minutes and have fun). That's why i'm buying this game.

because it is my ideal mmo.. an mmo which is a shooter. That makes it unique imo. Plus quite a lot of clan members are getting it and it is a lot of fun to group with friends. . It may not be perfect but it is good fun. Also the devs have been listening to the community, which  is encouraging, when parting with my cash.

I'm going to get this game because I've always liked the GTA series and have always wanted to play an MMO style of it. I hope this game delivers and am well aware of the beginning and launches of most games so If it launches badly I will not let it effect me to much knowing that there is a chance it will get better.

I'm not much into shooters or shooter style MMO's so I'll probably steer clear.

I will be playing because I am so sick of elves, orcs, wizards, etc etc.  At this point I am trying almost any game that is not fantasy based.  How many more games do we need in the sword and sorcery genre??  None IMO.

I may get it, I'm not sure yet.

I would DEF get it if they had the ability to split servers to Mature & Not..... but I doubt they will. The community is going to be really bad.

I will get this game. As I like to try new MMOs out. Currently trying NFSW. And saw someone tipping about Tourchlight about, might buy that as well(mabby not an MMO).

I have seen all the podcasts for APB, and I saw the game a few months back for the first time, and tought it'd be cool.

But still wondering how they gonna keep the game alive with content etc.

Beyond character customization there is no substance to this game that is worth a paying a fee to play.

Too true.  Despite claims, EA's punk buster and Hi-Rez can't keep up.  I have a 50 melee recon and a 50 sniper recon in global agenda and I saw them quite often (no not all the time).  And before the fanboi flametard jumps in, let me say .... Yeah, I'm aware of the Device that lets you see stealthed players.  And no I don't suck I average upwards of 10+ kills and 0 to 2 deaths.... personal best being 29 kills and 0 deaths.  And yeah, the focus is object points FTW.  Sorry I had to say that, because when I posted concerns on global agenda's forums I got flamed by people that didn't bother to read.

Anyhow, the company that is making the aim hack, has it for Bad Company 2 (and gloabal agenda).  BC2 is an EA game, so it stands to reason APB will have it too.  It takes almost 2 weeks for Hi-Rez to ban a player using an Aim hack (when they do), punk buster simply kicks them from the server with no real penalty.

So at the least, I'm going to just wait.  But based on current and past experience FPS/TPS twitch skill based just doesn't have the ability to hold my interest very long.  I'll agree twitch has the most action, but I find I need to do 15 minutes on the freestanding heavy bag after half an hour (all that adrenalin and no physical activity) .  Also, I survived Star Trek Online ($40 box and 2 months sub).... It could have been good, but  it is not very good.  So, I think I'll wait 2-3 months from now on, before I buy anything now.

I plan on getting this game for a few reasons.

    1. I love what I've seen from Character Creation / General Creation System. I like the idea of making my very own, unique symbol and being able to attach that symbol to my skin, my clothes, and my car. The massive ability to customize the character the way I like it to be. The idea that I can make music that will play in my car and make a short, badass tune that will play anytime I kill an opposing character.

    2. I love shooters, although I am not that great at them. I like the idea of a game not set in a magical, medieval period of time with Dwarves and Elves and Orcs. Although it may be short on a storyline, I think the social and action of the game will make up for it.

    3. It's going to be released soon and I've liked what I've seen in general.

I can't wait for the release, and I may pre-order it. Not yet sure. But I will be playing it eventually, sooner or later.

Until RTW corrects the Weapon Mod imbalances, fixes the broken Matchmaking System, implements some more depth to the Mission System, adds more Combat Districts and does something to remove the Aimbot/Wall Hacks Im going to give this game a PASS.

The game has some real potential, but it also has way too many problems to make it worth a purchase + a monthly fee.

    Tried: EQ2 - AC - EU - HZ - TR - MxO - TTO - WURM - SL - VG:SoH - PotBS - PS - AoC - WAR - DDO - SWTOR
    Played: UO - EQ1 - AO - DAoC - NC - CoH/CoV - SWG - WoW - EVE - AA - LotRO - DFO - STO - FE - MO - RIFT

I'll be getting it because my gaming mates and me have had a great time on it working as a team. Last night we kept getting the same villain team to go against and it was knife-edge close every time, really intense stuff. Sure RTW could flesh out some of the game and it's fair to assume that they will be doing just that over time.

I don't really know why people are complaining about a monthly fee, one of the things that's making me get it is the fact that you can buy blocks of time when you want them. An £8 monthly flat rate isn't worth it to me anymore, I don't have the time to consider that good value, but being able to buy 20 hours of game-time for £5.99 is. I could probably get six weeks of APB goodness out of that and still have time to play my other games without feeling like I'm wasting money.

APB still has the monthly fee if that's the option you want to take but it's not an option you have to take.

unless i run into some unforeseen dealbreakers i'll have to buy it.  its the first "MMO" that has all the concepts right IMO.  as for things i'm concerned about with it....

i worry that they will make the weapon/armour acquisition into too much of a buildup/grind, and that it will favour vets over "noobs" way too much.  i'm sure i'll end up being a vet soon enough.  but, i don't like that kind of imbalance no matter which side of the fence i'm on.  i don't wanna have an easy time against "noobs" because i've played longer and have much better equipment.

I have already pre-ordered the game.

I like it alot because it's my kind of game, nice team gameplay, league's which gives you alot of nice rewards. Though it's pretty team play based, solo is not really boring but playing in a team is so much better, i myself am in a clan and it's really fun that way.

The customization is just great and jawdropping.

The missions are kinda repetitive however it wont feel as such if you have a group of friends or a clan, and using voice communication which makes it all fun, yesterday with my clan we did like 35-40 missions and havn't lost any of 'm, some were pretty hard because of great positioning of the opposite team, but due to great teamplay and skills we've blasted through every missions.

League's are awesome, you have different kind of league's, catagorized in Personal and Clan league's, for example you have Daily, Weekly and Monthy league's with Most Damage, Highest Kill/Death Ratio, Mission win ratio and some more, which can give you some really awesome rewards, from sick cars to rocket launchers, and even a Statue in the Social District!

been playing from time to time for couple of days now. not worth subscription in MY opinion.

social district is like a second life with fashion designer while the other side a.k.a pvp is clumsy with a loop of endless minigames.

reminds me of champions online mostly. beyond the customization it gets boring at some point.
