As I have not been exposed to a broad range of headsets, my current recommendation range for under $200 headphones is small: Razer, Sennheiser and the up and coming NOX - which I am currently reviewing.

What do you think of Beyerdynamic?
Beyer Dynamic is a Pro-Audio manufacturer in the same class as Sennheiser (both out of Germany). They are the industry references. They've also recently entered the Gaming / Multimedia arena.
Both these companies are only beginning to introduce the budget / entry level headsets into their lines. I don't think the Beyer Dynamic has broken the $100 yet. Last I heard, the MSRP on the budget Beyerdynamic was $109.99.
I would love to review both the Sennheisers and the Beyer Dynamic budget & better sets. I'll see what I can do.
Cheers, Carolyn

If money is no object, go for the best --> Beyerdynamic's Headzone Gaming System, only $1,999US.
If you're ready to spend some money that doesn't cost more than your car, you can't go wrong with the Razer - Megalodon USB Gaming Headset, only $150US.
Sennheiser also makes headphones for every need -- the HD 485 delivers quality sound for the money, are well built, dependable and won't break the bank @ about @$66US.
If you know someone in the business and you're looking for professional/high end, you can usually save 30%-40% or more off these retail prices.

After consulting Xe.com, that sounds about right. My DT 234 PROs are about £60-£80 depending on where you get them from.
I used to use a pair of Sennheiser HD 25-SPs, but the lack of microphone got to be a chore (they're really monitoring headphones).
Would be awesome to know what to buy next, I have a soft spot for Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser and I always end up killing headphones eventually.
