This MMO just gets better and better ... (lots of stuff added recently)

After a shaky release they have improved the game in all levels. More feats and content have been added every week and they will continue add more every week. Mortal Online is the game, check the screenshots below an also check what SV will patch in the coming week, High res gfx, Epic Mob (spawned just once), more creatures added every week now, etc ...

Here is a picture of the newest mount they added two days ago. It has been tamed and owner have bought some armor for it. It looks pretty cool imo:

You can also buy saddles and armor for horses to, it looks pretty cool to, each horse race got it's own look:

A rare spawned new boss mob was added one week ago. No one have find a way to kill it yet. It is 3 times as tall as a minotaur. The Greater Kimuru:

http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/8287/greaterkimuru.jpg

Guilds have build keeps and other guilds have attack them already with catapults and another one.

Screenshot of a keep (build by guild forsaken):

http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab135/AirFell/Untitled.jpg

They have recently added territory control. Here are the territories and the political map:

http://i35.tinypic.com/2jeaiaq.jpg

Each guild owning a keep can get selected by the people. Several keep can be built in each territory. The guild that is selected become dictators by default, then they can set it to democracy again, ... if they want. :)

Mortal Online got a pretty advance and dynamic crafting system and great and realistic melee system (hitboxes) and players can build bridges, keeps, houses, walls and several other things ... set up camp fires, nights are dark, set up a shop (selling your stuff) and you have to use torches in dungeons etc ...

This is what is under development and what we can expect in the coming 2 patches. One patch each week:

The game have still some bugs but I find it fun to play and I play like 5 hours each day right now. There are enough with people online and at evening EU time there are many people online.

"but I find it fun to play and I play like 5 hours each day right now". I hope you still have time to have an outside life. Don't let an MMO own your life. 5 hrs a day seems excessive...Real life is the ultimate sandbox MMO, remember that.

Thanks, but I don't have a work right now.

Nice compilation of info and screenshots. Looks like they are hard at work. The forsaken guild keep looks awesome.

"A job" you mean. Not being rude, you must be foreign so i'm correcting you. I would give the game a go but I have school and work and those two are more important than an MMO. Maybe over Xmas break I'll try it out or something. Though, EvE is a perfect MMO for being in school because while studying you can just mine ore's and it works very well.

Np, english is not my first language. Yes, I mean job. :)

There are simularities between EVE and MO. MO is inspiered by UO and EVE. It's skill based, but lots of focus on RL skill in combat.

It looks horrible, hurts my eyes just looking at the screenshots. What's going on with all the edges on objects and the environment? The toons are even worse. I do think if you release a new game you got to try at least to keep it up to date with current standards.

By the way, shouldn't this be posted in the Moral Online forum?

    Play: -

When you check screenshots from other games, it normally looks that way. Ingame it looks better when characters moves around etc ...

People on the MO forum already knows of MO. I think people here appreachiate getting some basic info here on The Pub at MMORPG.COM. Maybe some people will find this game good to. I think there are people here looking for different options.

This MMO is probably not a game for you.

yeah it probably should and those screenshots look terrible, half of them dont even look like full graphics, the game does look good when in game even without hi res graphics enabled.

What ppl need to realize the stuff that has been added of recent is not new, this stuff was around in alpha they are just addingit now and it makes it look like they are doing great things when in reality they are just adding shit that has been made previously, YES it is good that they are adding stuff but how much shit do they break in the process?

The last patch was rediculous..cool they added a new mount that is not really new but broke so much other shit it was a joke, let me rattle off a few for ya, Whisper no longer working, frequent crashing when interacting with vendors, Catalyst prices are now absurd, crushers not working correctly, Characters running around in combat mode even tho they are not which i might add looks fucking retarded and let me name a few bugs that have been around for 1-2 months now, bugged chat box that repeats itself, Fatal errors for no reason what so ever, armor mitigation between diff types where as they all seem to mitigate the same dmg no matter what support material still bugged.

The game is getting to the point where it should have been at release but it is also getting more and more shit broke every patch, from what i can see that is happening is that they had a good solid game when it was 1 player mode but now that they are implementing stuff piece by piece in an mmo environment they DO NOT know how to fix the problems as on there 1 player test server shit works fine but on the real server it doesn't, ppl can flame me for trolling if they like but the fact remains if they knew what they were doing then the game breaking bugs that have been there since release (duping) e.t.c would and should have been fixed by now.

I have 2 active accounts with this game and tbh i am wondering why, the game has great potential and in theory sound and look great but in reality it is a broken game hanging on with the fanboys that love it so much, don't get me wrong i wanna be a fanboy but SV and Mortal are not helping my decision what so ever.

I think you exaggerating a bit now. Sure it got some bugs but it's still very playable.

Actually no i am not exaggerating, and i never said it wasn't playable just not a pleasant playable experience, i have nearly my whole guild just say screw this, this is a joke, they have all experienced and so have many others the very stuff i mentioned and are sick of it, near 12 months of beta and 2 months of release and we have nothing new in game, except the multltudes of bugs they patch in every week, tell me if they were a company that had there business and the games best interest  at heart then dont you think all these bugs especially since the last patch would have been fixed?? 2 days now since the patch and none of the bugs were fixed, you tell me what the hell are they doing??

No1 can because even they do not know what they are doing, this crap will ride out till next patch where they will say we have now fixed this bug and that bug therefore making the next patch look even more uber and IF they fix them which half the time they dont there will just be another line of bugs.

like i said i'm not trying to troll here i am trying to be honest, i dont want new ppl coming to the game like this it will turn them off for good, i would rather say "Hey guys the game is starting to shape up but i wouldn't  get too excited just yet, hopefully in the next 3 months they will get the crappy stuff sorted out" then to ay hey guys this game is great you must SUB now only to have them dissapointed with the game and it's current state.

I'd rather give the Nigerian State Lottery Commissioner who has just emailed my hotmail pap account my credit card details then give them to SV to be brutally honest.

Looks like a Nintendo 16-bit (terrible) porting. I can't believe they did such a poor job with Unreal 3 engine... Lineage 2 was developed on Unreal 2 and still looks thousand times better =_='

is it a game yet?  is it anything but a pvp game?

  • Silas26Silas26 Member Posts: 51

    You are trolling.

you act like fixing bugs is just as easy as you say it is.

Beside, when the guy feels the need to say he is not trolling, it usually means he knows he's trolling more than anyone else.

I haven't the game, but the OP made a great post and you are just a troll trying to hijack it.

Edit : was supposed to quote the last post from Charlizd.

Is it still first person view only? I know it seems like a small matter, but I cannot stand FPV. I have other reservations, but I would have tried it already if not for that. I probably would stick it out through bugs too, if I liked the game overall.

It's good that they are adding stuff, but I could not stand the general principles that this game was build on in the beta.

Chopping at virtual trees and rocks, only to get most of you stuff stolen regularly is not my idea of fun, nor is it fun running through a featureless landscape.

But anyhow, maybe in a year or so the game might have a more or less enjoyable form.

The whole point was to be FPV only, so probably.

Nice to see they are finally adding some stuff, and it would be nice if SV, being a small indie, managed to get this thing off the ground. I decided not to subscribe at release, but despite the various issues it was still quite fun in a wild open non-theme park way, although at the time there was very little in the way of pve to hunt, a bit of wild life.

They did seem to have a habit of adding more problems with each patch, for a while.. patch one thing and 20 others broke lol. Or have 1 person on the server at the time a patch is tested, having it declared "fixed", then having it break again as soon as the player base gets on.

But we'll always remember sausage lake!

They released it without a justice system? They had a very good justice system in the plans. I knew they were talking about not using it or altering it, but I can't believe they didn't use it. That would make it another Shadowbane/Darkfall in what it would do to the game.

I never understood why they charge for box more than every other mmo. Even with their 20% discount for summer it's still more expensive than other mmos.

The game should go f2p with item shop.

If by that you mean they should con unreasonable amounts of money out of a small segment of the player base in order for the majority to be able to play for practically nothing.. yea.. no.

    f2p is morally very wrong.

I've had my eye on this game for a long time now, wasn't terribly happy with release, but im glad to see they're fixing the game up and adding new content. I really like the core principles/ideas they had though.

I can't now, but it's definently a game I want to look in to giving another shot at some point this year.
