Yay!. Serve the cheating buggers right.
Hope they ban everyone and anyone suspected of using it :P.
Guilty until proven innocent i say, i will not let them do to WoW that they did to Diablo 2. I mean come on 2 weeks in and already people are hacking... ffs its a game not a race.
Some people really dont understand that a game is about fun and not work.

Accounts Banned for Speed Hacking - Block on 12/3/04
We wanted to take this time to make an announcement about a serious hacking violation in World of Warcraft, one for which we have zero tolerance. Certain individuals have been identified as using speed hacks to accelerate their characters. This goes against the theme of fair play that we have instituted for the game, and is in clear violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use.Those individuals who were caught using the speed hack have been banned from the game and have had their accounts closed. We must stress once again that we are opposed to hacking and cheating of any kind and are dedicated to maintaining a fair environment in our games. This will serve as a final warning to others who are considering using the speed hack. If you are caught using it, you will be banned without question from World of Warcraft and your account will be revoked.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you suspect someone of using the speed hack, or wish to report other instances of cheating, please email us at hacks@blizzard.com. Thank you again for your continued support.

I wish I was the highest level. I would never use a hack though. I went to trisfal glades, starting point of undead, saw a lvl 43 on a kodo. I suppose if you play from when you get home from school, until 4 in the morning, you can get that high. Congrats to Blizz for stopping some of the hackers.

I might get called on it because I am warp lagging all over the place. It is kind of funny because I watched someone record me in Fraps and I watched the demo and it was so hilarious. I was warping from like half the screen across. But it doesn't matter, I don't think anyone will call me a hacker for it.

A hack used to run, attack, and regen your attacks faster.
Curious what that has to do with speedhacking... it is possible to do that without speed hacking.

nonononono. Not everyone suspected of hacking and definitely not guilty until proven innocent... That would turn into chaos: "OMG u kick me frm ur group, report 4 hax!"(when someone has been playing really stupid in your instance group and you kick them) Next thing you know he's sent an email to hacks@blizzard.com and your acco gets banned. I hope they really look into it and have enough people or a gm verify that the guy is actually cheating.
I know this has made the potential cheaters think twice before starting. That's a good start. Keep steadily banning verified cheater accounts.
Some maybe congratz blizzard. But I don't. They made it possible to hack in the first place.
They made the mess. They have to clean it up!
I however would not CongratZ blizzard for banning some cheaters.
I would think it is good that they clean the mess they have made.
For not to mention other Online games, that blizzard have created.(Diablo1/2, Warcraft1/2/3, Starcraft, every game has cheating)

The blame is always with the cheater, never with the developer of the game.

Silver, what do you mean with "They made it possible to hack in the first place" ?
It is IMPOSSIBLE to make a game that cannot be hacked!
As long as there is code running on the client side, the code can be altered.
The only way they could prevent hacking on the client side is to sell you a terminal (screen and keyboard) and keep the computer equipment on a different location, where you cannot access it, and they need to make sure there is no way you can get to any of the software on it that could potentially be abused.
In other words, impossible.
There is no game on the market that has not been hacked in one way or another. And hacks will forever be.. every game will get hacked (unless computers change totally. Which doesn't seem very likely.)
Its not about getting hacked or not. Its about how you deal with it when it happens.
In Diablo and *craft Blizzard didn't really care a lot about it. But in WoW they do. This is great. I hope they can keep the hacking down to a minimum.

Everyone knows the proverbial cheater, we've heard the omniscient reviews about why they do it, how they do it, when they do it, and who does it, but the bottom line, as always, is thats its wrong.
Cheater : To deceive by trickery; swindle ; defraud
Cheater : To mislead; fool
Cheater : To elude; escape
If you ask me, those look like something a thief does. In our society, thiefing is described, in its lamen, as wrong, illegal even! So for those that cheat, I hope you do get banned. Thats just one of my many hopes, among becoming rich, but it's always a "good" day to see justice from the gaming community brought down on those who "decieve by trickery, mislead and elude" gamers and gaming communities!

LMFAO do you even know what a speed hack is? Do you even know that speedhacks can be used in basicly any PC game or program? The difference here is that Blizzard has taken action agianst the speedhackers by banning them.. Games like UT, Halo, CS, L2, SB, AO, ect all of which have (or should I say had since these games are dead basicly) speedhackers does not...

You should really get your facts straight.
Blizzard did not enable anyone to use a 3rd party program to gain any benefit in their game, why would they let people cheat?
Duh.
The "speed-hack" was not made for WoW, it's a program that speeds everything up in Windows, therefor it's name, which would not be so hard to figure out.
But I won't tell you it's name though, obviously, although theres another so called speed-hack that's just a modified version of the original program.
The speed-hack is not even worth the risk you take by using it, you don't hit mobs faster than they hit you, their hit-speed increases as well, the only big benefit is your run speed, it's like having a free mount.
And Blizzard is doing the right thing banning every single one using "speed-hack's" without a warning.
We all know that anyone stating that they did not cheat who recieved a ban due to that particulary reason is a pathetic lier.

Do you think, because its a blizzard game. many of the Diablo 2 hackers will try to break this game as well? I played D2 a little bit on battle net, but i had to give it up because of all the l33t stuff and just rude and stupid behaviour.
