Was hoping for a 'welcome back' trial on my level 40 Chosen.

Was looking to try out WAR again, haven't played since a few months after launch, but doesn't look like there's any 'welcome back' programs allowing you to play with your old chars? There's no point me 'seeing how it is' if all i can do is start in T1.

Someone did say there was a returning player 14 day free period , if your account was inactive for 90 days

Think it was in a post in The Pub section earlier today

Actually there is a big re-enlist campaign. When I resubbed (before the campaign) I got the first 14 days free on my old chars. houldnt be a problem. JUst re-up and you can try it again. Its a lot better than back at launch ...but they are about to make a big change to the world RvR.

I'm assuming its because EU servers are shut, haven't they merged both EU and US now?

I just did the exact same thing last night. Haven't played since December of 2009. Let me tell you up front that the account management menus are not very user friendly as far as directing you to do exactly everything required to log into the game. It was tricky regarding the difference in the password between the account mgt page and the log into the game page, tricky to figure out if I could do the endless trial or only the 14 day trial, or even how to activate that, tricky when installing the game from the old disks to figure out what to click to start the game since the short cut wasn't automatically placed on the desktop, tricky to figure out that my characters were all on an old server that was inactive and I had to pick a server for each character (with badlands not being available), but in the end, if you keep trying, its all there. You should be able to get your 14 day trial.

My only two questions were:

1) Is there no endless trial for existing accounts to make alts and play within T1? If so I couldn't figure out how to do that in parallel to the 14 day trial I activitated.

2) I had absolutely no idea how to play my BW anymore lol or what I had to do since things were reversed since the last time I logged in. Should I just start a new one? lol

3) I am on the Vortex or Vortack server, forgot name. Is that a good server? I tried around 11:30PM last night West Coast Time (Los Angeles) to get into a scenario for my new level 3 Archmage but no luck.

Try Gorfang, Badlands is very (over)populated, but you can't play there with endless trial

I was on Vortex once upon a time also. Vortex was one of the merged and decommissioned servers. When you log in you will notice that the server is still listed with the number of toons you had on it but you wont be able to select the server. You have to login to your main account on their website and do a free transfer on those characters to one of the remaining servers. It only takes about like 15 mins for the characters to show up. At least it did form me. Might depend on what time of day you do the request.

 It took 5 minutes or less for me.
