Odd little game

Aint going to lie steep learning curve and do to the fact its a beta I will give it some slack there.

Kinda of like the fighting but dont like why I have to lock the target first then hit primary target and then hit the weapon button.

But the killer for me is the game world. its to blah and odd, your not really piloting mechs as much as 6' robots and your starting robot is basicly r2d2 with an ak47 strapped to his head.

Its like one minute to assign two buttons - 'make it primary target' and 'make it single target' in Settings.

Push space to fire with all weapons.

Are 3 buttons too much for you?

 

Also if you want instant gratification ('OMG my starting robot is too noob give me heavy mech [is bigger] instead')

then Perpetuum is NOT your game - trust me.

I'm hoping for some improvements to the game world aesthetics. I feel the scale is off visually. I know how big my robot is supposed to be, but the textures seem inconsistent. Also, I would think there should be some robot-vermin for scale (robot-rats ftw!)

If the premise is that intelligent inorganic life developed, wouldn't it have developed with simpler lifeforms first? Some of the foliage looks inorganic and I like that, there just isn't much that doesn't dwarf the robots.

Open beta started Oct. 18th. Check it out for yourself. Awesome in my opinion from what I have seen so far. Very Eveish in UI look and gameplay mechanics. I strongly recommend dl beta and check it out if interested. If you dont liike the Eve mentality or are a Wow fanboi you probably wont like it. If you ever wanted to scamper about in a metallic spider with weapon turrets it is a must see. I give it a definate thumbs up!
