Do you have to progress to the FFA areas. Is it a must go place for advancement ? If it is not I might check this out. Thanks for answering my questions .

Yes, Alpha islands contain very limited content of FFA islands.
For character advancement I would say NO.
For PVP and one specific resource for manufacturing I would say yes. But you could always buy that resource from other plays that will sell them on the market.

Alpha islands have the 'hardest' spawns as 3rd rank Assault bots. iirc, it is 1 spawn for whole island. That is something you can be hunting with about a week of EP.
What advancement you have on mind? Playing for 6 months, driving largest mech you can get and still farm the same NPC as in week 1?

This is actually more important than the mining or harvesting resource. Most people are going to want to go for combat. The quantity of PvE content is about as important as the level of the PvE content. I think it would be very interesting to have the Alpha islands develop an economy and corporations that worked in tandem with the Beta islands' economy. i.e. there are resources in Alpha that aren't in Beta, and resources in Beta that aren't in Alpha. Corporations can try to establish terminals in both zones, or they could trade with corporations from each zone. Then you throw in some Gamma or Zeta islands that operate under slightly different principals and have different resources.
Eventually there may even be Hello Kitty theme kits for your bots with pink neon to attach to the lightweight frames. :-)
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

That does not work.
People who live on Beta islands can come any day over the Alpha island and get the resources from there. This does not work the other way round though... People living on Alpha islands are most likely not going to go to beta islands..
The problem is, Beta islands have no maintenance costs. You can simply live there and it cost you nothing, you need not to trade beta exclusive resources.

It would require an inventive and skilled team of developers and designers to make it work. Yes, the Beta Islanders can come over to get the resources from Alpha, but it takes time that they may need to get the Beta resources. Perhaps there is a trick to getting the resources from the Alpha Islands that is comparable with having to look out for Miner Farmers.
My point is to make the Alpha Islands attractive to players that aren't interested in constant FFA PvP, but who might want to dip their toes every once in awhile and still provide something meaningful to the overall game world (economy). It would be interesting to have two such communities side by side. Think Belgium...they don't go to war, but a lot of people want to visit. Or Japan, they don't have a military to speak of, but they have lots of interesting high tech devices.

I do get your point and was getting it even before, I was just commenting on Perpetuum as it is (now).
At the end, that is a point of the sandbox, to have various people contributing, not just certain player type playing the game certain way...
Currently, Perpetuum is 'just' a PVP game and nothing 'more'...
Is there an easyer way to understand the crafting and factorys and how they work. Im having trouble understanding this. I can get the resorces ok but have no idea where to look only the red shadded area. Once there its hunt and peck or at least it is for me. Have no idea how the factorys work reverse engineering or recycle and have read the game manual several times it just confuses me more.
Am i the only one having this trouble, comments welcome but preferr simple how it works comments.

Totally true. If they dropped a resource on the Alpha islands, there wouldn't be any reason the Beta islanders would just come take it. Unless of course it was more difficult.
For instance, you have a "boss" bot spawn that drops a core that is also dropped on the Beta islands, but the Alpha island bot is larger, and maybe requires 2 or more people to take it out. It would have to be more difficult because the Alpha islanders are not dealing with the possibility of a sneak attack. The Beta islanders aren't going to come kill a bot that's harder to kill because they are used to the sneak attacks and it's easier to kil lthe Beta island bot. Some Alpha islanders will be tempted to come kill the Beta island bots since they are easier to kill, even with the possiblity of a sneak attack from other players.
Or something like that.

The game is pay to play. (P2P)
3 starter islands(depending on faction you start with) are consensual PVP only. 3 other islands are FFA PVP.
I think he meant the PvP - no, there are opt-in areas, considered to be safe zones.
Ah, I didn't read it correctly.
