Several friends already hit 85 in my server.. says took them only 16 hours to grind up there... me I'm just smelling the roses, messing around with archeology and fishing :P As for the first EU paladin to hit 85... he didn't do it legitly.. what he did was get a bunch of his friends together to power level him.. (by letting him tag mobs and then killing the mob enmasse for him). Also he admitted he did it as a publicity stunt.

now: GW2 (11 80s). Dark Souls 2. future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord. "Bro, do your even fractal?" Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
Just curious. A EU human paladin hit the level cap just in 5 hours, he is god, ok. Have any info on US version Cata? Any one hit lvl85 yet?
I'm Just curious, but how exactly does a 5 hour powergrind session in an on-line video game make someone a god?
Sounds more like a personal issue than anything else.
it seems now if you play 5h straight your a "no-lifer", wow always setting a new "standards" ¬¬

When it's obsession to the extent of burning through the bulk of an expansion's worth of content in 5 hours just to 'be first', then yeah, you're probably a no-lifer.
I was surprised to see a friend of mine just hit 85. He was always a pretty hardcore player, always raided with a good guild etc. But I remember in Burning Crusade it still took him a good long time to hit 70. I struggled to keep up and fell behind my friends, but that meant I was 63 while they were 67, and oh man wait till you get to Blade's Edge! This took a good long time.
When Lich King came out I was disappointed to see people barreling through solo with no concern for the overworld questing content, but even then it took good players a few weeks to hit 80.
I just did a double take and checked the date, thinking maybe 9 days had passed since release and not 2.
Is the game that much easier now, or is it just that the people who've stuck with it after all these years are jaded with questing and have it down to a science?

I have to ask..what's the point in leveling so quickly? is Wow's endgame that amazing? Not being a smartass, I never got past level 10 with wow. just want to know..

World first lvl 85 actually IS a real acheivement, many clans and individuals compete for that title.
Go back to your kill 800 000 mobs of X to get your exalted rep for your "I grinded 50 factions to exalted" achievement, now that is some serious waste of time.

When WoW launches a new expansion, the heroic dungeons and raids are always restricted to max cap characters so many people push thru the boring stuff before they really start having fun.

Is grinding the same dungeons and raids over and over and over and over again fun?
I have to disagree... you were one of the reasons i quit playing wow. It isnt just about getting to that last dungeon and abusing it, its about going through all those "boring quest givers" and playing the game. people understood that in vanilla wow, BC was the first time i had problems finding people to go into instances with me because "ah dude all the good gear is over here in this one." really? thats a whole new area that i havent seen yet, with monsters i havent fought yet, and i have quests for there damnit.

People were hitting 85 on US servers hours ago. Not even sure why you'd ask such an obvious question

He's a god? I just saw a blurb about him on gamespy.com and I remember him from some of his videos.
He's the guy who swears a lot.

WoW's end game is a neverending gear grind.

It will be for a time. Beats the hell out of running back and forth between quest givers lol.
