Fact is, I have been playing the game, semi-casually, for 3 weeks and I got only 10k in the bank and my stats are only 25-30 and I havent yet qualified for any mastery skills. So this game seems to be a huge grind. Nothing wrong with that, but it should be something that new players should be aware of.

Even playing casually 25-h0 is very low for 2 weeks.

Did you join NEW?  Do you have a clan you are playing with?

A support group when starting out is very important. Servicable gear at low levels is important (this is an investment from your clan).  Also grouping should help you progress much faster.    I can generally get someone from 1-50 in 1-2 hours (depending on spawn).  Once you get 75 melee skill the game opens up and becomes much easier and faster to progress.  I have new trial players who have maybe 3-4 days playtime who have 40ish WC, 30 SC, and 50 melee skill.  Much is about being efficinet and having a support network.

If you need help feel free to PM your in game name and I will see if I can help you.  I won't be around until after christmas though.

Clan, no. I did join NEW but they did not do much except give me some gear and let me use their town. Didnt organize any hunting parties or anything, atleast not when I was online.

So right now I am guildless and up north in dwarven lands, killing skeletons to finish a title quest. I got R40 weapons and staff, thanks to some helpful people out there, and I can craft my own scale armor. But still, it seems to take forever to raise skills as my Great Sword is only 50, Lesser Magic is 60, Greater Magic is 20 and that is pretty much it.

Can be said that I dont macro and I get bored after maybe 30 mins of grinding mobs... Really dont like PvE much and not why I play MMORPGs. So right now the only thing I find enjoyable is crafting but after hitting 50 in Armor smithing, the progression seems to have slowed down quite alot. Trying to get into Enchanting but missing alot of mats for it.

I should join a guild and I applied for Elders of Agon but they are reorganizing and said they are not currently recruiting.

My IG name is Amon Bloodwynd and I play on Euro servers.

Unfortunately we are US.  Find a good clan which is active and keeps things fun.

We recently had a number of guys join us who are active and organzie events.  I am more ht e power leveling type but it all goes together/

    @Yamato

Sorry to hear that your stats aren't progressing as fast as you would like. It seems you have the right attitude and are doing your best to stick it out. Low level crafiting and grinding mobs is starting to take it's toll. I understand. I can only say that I agree with another poster that grouping is the key to your success/fun in DF.

I played solo for about 2 weeks when I first started and after I joined a clan, the game changed. Ofc you might join a clan/alliance of idiots. I didn't, but i'm telling you that it can happen. PvE with a group is much, much better than solo. I liked PvE solo for one reason only, b/c of the threat of getting jumped. Newbs should learn this lesson, but if it happens too much it kills the game.

Get yourself into a clan asap. If the clan is a bunch of city hugging/macro using tards, move on. You won't really know until you play with them. Leadership is easy to recognize but difficult to find. I hope your game experience improves.

    Good luck.

Playing: BF4/BF:Hardline, Subnautica 7 days to die
    Hiatus: EvE
    Waiting on: World of Darkness(sigh)
Interested in: better games in general

Also, it is a shame that everyone has to be a mage in this game. Adventurine really screwed up on that one, imo.

I'm hoping prestiage classes add some abilities for people who don't want to use magic. What I don't want to see are healing abilities that don't require magic. The reason I don't want to see that, is for it to be balanced, they would have to be just as effective as chain casting transfers, heal self, and witches brew.

You don't have to be a mage to be effective, but it certainly makes it easier considering how badly the game is balanced. Since the game is balanced badly, I'm glad AV never introduced soft cap + skill decay or hardcaps. Could you imagine the QQ if either of those happened? LOL
