Dude, just get DC Universe Online [DCUO] . It is not a long MMO , but at least it's fun all the way up.
Of course if you really want to be cheap, get LOTRO . Good graphics, best free to play MMO you can get.

I was looking at DCUO, but I hate that silly superheroes... And LOTRO ain't fun at all, I have no idea how it got best f2p mmo award, when you are quite limited if you don't pay

All hands should be on deck, making the game as smooth and stable and polished as possible for launch, not working on an expansion that may never come if the game fails.

When they are saying expansion packs they are talking about big content additions that will be added for free. They are not talknig about expansions in the sense of a EQ2 expansion.
Heh. Rift has cast such a large shadow over this forum that both EarthRise & DCUO are hardly mentioned. I did have the pleasure of testing ER and will be pickin up a sub 6-12 months down the road. I prefer joining sandbox games after the community settles In and the economy is developed a bit more.
DCU is hardly mentioned? I feel I saw much more articles for DCU than Rift, specially since it is released and Rift is no.

I'm taking here my words back. First impression was really bad ... mainly because this is pure console game, have nothing to do with pc world. But later managed with ingame settings and a lot of chaning, using my macro kbd and mouse, .... to make it feel much more like pc game.
The worst part of game being obviously developed exclusively for ps3 and console in general is selecting targets. Must be done with tab as there is no mouse cursor to select. With many mobs or objects on screen one can press tab 10, 15 times before getting to the right one. Or after 15th tab discover was 1 tab to much. Or even worse .. pull another group that stands pretty far but tab still manage somehow to select them. This remain most disturbing part for me now.
I admit is fun, travel powers rocks (wish in CO could run up buildings with acrobat or other transport ways), scenario is great, especially in Gotham feels like being in movie, .... Well, at least after few days im much more happy. Does not look to me game that I could play half year at once however.
I played... well... not true, I tried to play the beta. Tried during 3 different days, 2 hours each during different times, and never got to play more than 5 minutes without getting disconnected because the zone wasn't reachable. If this is what they offer than definitely not a game for me. Never made it out of the tutorial because every time I logged in I either fell through the world and restarted at the beginning or got locked somewhere and couldn't move until I reconnected, fell through the world and started from the beginning.
I was really looking forward to this game, but either it didn't like my connection or the game simply isn't ready... I vote for number two.

I just posted that Rift was showing other developers how to release a game. ER is showing them what not to do.

Actually they do. In negative sense. :-) Have purchased digital download and was only around 30€. But still 30€ overpriced. :-) Wish i have read http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/dc-comics-mmo/1147072p1.html before.

lawl, MMO Darts...keep throwing them maybe one of the darts will stick and be as popular as World of Warcraft.
