Game List Ratings are Broken.

KhayotixKhayotix Member UncommonPosts: 231

Yesterday every released game on that list was 1.0 rating Higher than today, with the same amount of votes. WoW was 8.07 today it is 7.07, DCUO was 8.17 now its 7.17 the list goes on. and all the Hyped Games that are unreleased stayed at their same levels. Something is broken and has ruined the ratings.

Nothing is really broken. It's temporary and will adjust back within a couple of weeks. A new game was released. All new games start with a 10 rating.

Released game rating are completely different from Hype ratings.

That's kind of weird, because Rift is at 9.1...was it at 10.1 yesterday?

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

I meant all the other games, Rift will come down gradually but all the other released games are 1.0 rating below what they were yesterday with the same amount of votes. its like they magically lost 1 rating. That is what is broken, i am not talking about rift.

That drop in all other listings happens because that is the way the calculations work.

Giving the full reason would take about 15 minutes for me to type and after seeing people bring this up with every new game  for the past six years, I'm just not that invested.

Yes I know they are different numbers, but they are in the same column on the game list and when you organize it highest to lowest it includes both in the heirarchy. all the hype games now sit above the released games in rating. completely above, when yesterday you would have seen 1 or 2 orange bars in a sea of blue, now you see a sea of orange above a sea of blue. I watch these numbers every single day, trust me something is wrong. Every released game went down by 1 rating, even Final Fantasy XIV which was already at a crappy 6.5ish is now 5.5ish today. with no changes in voters. something is quite buggy.

I kindly request that you dont respond to my posts then, if you arent willing to explain why you "know" what is going on, and let someone who will explain it to me post in your stead. I mean no disrespect, but if you arent going to enlighten someone, then dont say you know why and then walk away.

I've been playing Rift for several days. I had forgotten that it hasn't actually released yet.

That is weird about the numbers...I don't suppose you have any sort of screenshot or anything to back up what you're saying? It could just be a change in the calculations...for instance now graphics don't count as much as other categories or something like that. They could have also filtered out outliers too...like someone who rated all categories a 0 or all categories a 10. That kind of thing.

unfortunately no i have no screen shots, however your idea of the ratings values changing could be it. I would like to think MMORPG.com would let us know of a change like that though. :)
