Well, I installed Pantheon 3 days ago and it has kept my interest so far. At first I thought it would be just another Facebook game with energy and silly things like that...another clickfest where brains are not used at all.... With surprise I found out that this is not the case...

Although the genre is not new, it is an empire building game, it has a lot of depth and it requires decision making in order to build up your empire. You get to improve your city, research new technologies, summon mythical creatures to help your armies, recruit various different types of units and conduct trading with other players. It also has RPG elements giving you the opportunity to recruit heroes and have them lead your armies and fight in the arena... They earn XP, skills and equipment...

What I loved about this game was the fact that battles in the battlefield between armies and duels between heroes could actually be seen real time! Formation of the army is very important and it plays a significant role in the battlefield. For example, you need to protect your missile units and have your heavy troops hold the line and be careful not to have exposed flanks! As for the duels, it just is satisfying to watch my hero slaughter another player's hero in the arena...

The devs seem to love what they are doing and they are not hiding, but are active members of the community. It seem they are also trying to live up the world by controlling NPCs and interact with the players in the chat. They have also said that global events are coming up...
