New Planetside 2 article on FPS guru instead of here.?

thekid1thekid1 Member UncommonPosts: 789

Why in fucks name is the article not on here?

It's a mmo not like 9mm online which for whatever reason also is on the gamelist on this site.

So my complaints:

Stop calling normal online FPS MMOFPS (9mm online)

Release REAL MMOFPS, like Planetside 2, articles on THIS site (it's subtitel is called MMO and MMORPG game list for a reason)

Both these things aren't helping to bring Planetside 2 to the general public.

It is confusing and in fact also suggesting Planetside 2 is not a reall mmofps.

I agree, Planetside2 should be on THIS site && not FPSguru. It seems like the lack of REAL fps news has forced FPSguru.com to report on games it has zero relation to. So what it has fps elements, it's an MMO FIRST.

Then again this site reports on Huxley (not an MMO), Global Agenda (not an MMO), and 9mm Online. It seems they REALLY don't understand the difference between an MMO or a normal multiplayer driven (sometimes with 3D lobbies ala Global Agenda) FPS.

They do link ALL sister site articles onto this site, and its onyl smart to host a FPS on a FPS game site, yes its a MMOFPS but its still a FPS and therefor it falls into the FPSguru catagory, its just a simple way of getting more people to that sister site increasing trafic (worth of site) and popularity (hoping for reteurning views).

Just like a MMOG is posted on mmoRPG.com it got nothing to do whit the rpg part but its a MMO thus falls on the side of mmorpg.com a MMORTS can both be posted on mmorpg.com and on RTSguru.com its just a matter were they want thier trafic and any company will always try to bring anyting related into thier newest venture to boost it.

just relax theres plenty of coverage and if you would pay attention then you see that a featured item is the syndcon article.  all it does it redirect you to fpsguru how is that diferent from a link to a internal site at mmorpg.com ?

Whats the difference.....you got the news either way, isn't that the most important?

or are you too lazy to click one link?

As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.

MMOG? They SHOULD be posted on mmorpg.com, the RPG part was merely a misnomer placed on ANY mmo back in the day (when MMORPG was made).

Games like Huxley etc etc are NOT MMOG's, they're multiplayer games with 3D lobbies. It's the same thing for Global Agenda, again....NOT an MMO of any kind. Just because they paint it all pretty & try to pretend it's an MMO doesn't make it one.

With that said 9mm has NO business being on this site, and Planetside2 has ZERO business being on FPSguru.com. MMORPG is trying to increase traffic to FPSguru, that's all.

    Because they are confusing people.

They call 9mm online (and other fps) and Planetside 2 both MMOFPS.

And if that's not bad enough they don't release Planetside 2 articles on here, suggesting even more Planetside 2 is in the same category as 9mm online.

    I don't understand why they can't see a difference.

9mm online is just an online fps like any other with a server browser or perhaps a big chat lobby (no idea, don't play crap like that)

With Planetside 2 you are online in the same world with hundreds of people, no instance crap, we're talking same map here, just like a MMORPG.

Planetside 1 had very few people playing, one of the reasons was advertizing.

Now before Planetside 2 is released the biggest MMO (MMO, not MMORPG) website already refuses to post (certain) articles because they want traffic to their other sites. (wtf, really)

I don't care about their other sites. I come HERE for MMO news. Planetside 2 is a MMO.

Let FPSguru feature normal non MMO FPS like 9mm online and while your at it remove them completely from this site.

So? whats the problem?  does the game get less attention then if it was on mmorpg.com ? PS-2 is still a FPS style game, that is all it has to be to feature on FPSguru.com and 9mm is also on FPSguru.com whit a feature link on mmorpg.com.

Not one of these sites are compleetly dedicated to their site tittle. they try to focus on the style of games but they reserve the rights to post any and all games on any part of any main/sister site they like.

when The Elder Scrolls V: skyrim comes out you can bet there will be a review of it on mmorpg.com , when masseffect 3 comes out it will be on fpsguru.com  both games do not fir the tittle directly but indirectlythey do and they are trafic articles, guess what..its how they make money and are able to keep writing stuff and maintian the sites.  its a bussines not some silly little fan site.

Off course it will get less attention when it's not on this site.

A link does not magically change that.

I do not visit FPS Guru, I use only a few websites to read up on game news, this one for MMO news and antoher for normal (not Wii, mobile crap) news.

Planetside1 has far more in common with FPS then Everquest (MMORPG), and that's a good thing.

Your loss then, since both "sites"are owned by the same company and hosted on the same server host. as i said before NOTHING has chanced, the only thing that is chanced by making it more related to fpsguru is that the layout is a little

    diferent.

its still get the attention on mmorpg.com exsactly the same way if not a little more (since its also used to promote fpsguru.com  then if it were in the same page stucture as the other mmorpg.com articles.

if they posted it Only on fpsGuru whitout a feature on mmorpg.com I would agree that it gets less attention, but since Nothing has chanced exsept the point that its now hosted under a diferent adress/link your entire point is compleetly..well crazy / paranoid.

the guys/gals behind these sites are slowly expanding their coverage and in a few years we might see a full range and platfoms sites all linked togetter and maybe evena  overlaying social type site were the users/gamers can create thier own custom pages whit checkboxes and alike to follow the news across all these sites to thier own intrest.
